Inverter Issues

My inverter is not coming on. I have check the reset button on the device, checked gfci, flipped/reset breakers. I don’t know what else to check. I have a 2022 373rd. 400i solar, 2 brand new lead acid batteries. We have only lived in this rig for 3 weeks now. I have uploaded pics. I did push the reset on the inverter itself as well. TIA.

Sometimes on ours I have to cycle the DC input power to the Magnum inverter off, then back on again. After doing so I can hear the transfer relay energize and have inverted 120vac. Hope your solution is just as easy.

On the inverter itself, do you see the red read out lit up and a small green light? Or is this dark also? If you see the read out's and the small green light, then the inverter is on and working. If you are wanting or expecting to hear any sound, indicating it's actually running, you won't hear anything running until you unplug from shore power. Then the inverter will kick on and start humming when it senses a load on it and it heats up. Then the fan will kick on, and that's what you'll hear.

Then check your refrigerator while unplugged from shore power and see if the light come on inside.

Try unplugging from shore power, see what happens.

Make sure you have 12 volts on that orange and white wire. Recycle the inverter power switch. You should have a remote display inside, what does it read?

On the 2nd picture from the top, is there a blade fuse in that glass cover? As Tony said, make sure you are getting power to the inverter.

Good catch. There is a 250 amp fuse in the battery cable. If it's popped no batteries to invert.

Thank you, I unplugged the small orange wire on the left and that made it work.

Well that's interesting That's backwards. The inverter needs the orange wire to be 12 volt hot to turn on.

I agree, but this isn't the first time that I've heard of that scenario working. Magnum evidently makes some squirrely 2k inverters. Just glad the OP got his to working.

That's the problem, the Dimensions line is made in......wait for it.....China! This from the horses mouth. When I had a problem with mine I called the (manufacture) and they told me this. There's a sticker on the bottom of the unit. When they work their great...

I don't know about that. I do know that I tried flipping breakers, switching knobs, testing outlets, checking voltages, etc and nothing turned on the outlets or the fridge until unplugged that wire. Since I have tested it again (short periods of running off batteries) and it is still working with the wire unplugged.

That good that it's working but it also indicates a problem with the unit. If in fact it's inverting with the 12 volt power wire disconnected then somethings not right. If it's still under warranty I would contact the dealer for a replacement.
