We are insured with Progressive through AAA and the policy does not restrict full time use.

I have State Farm on mine, my house, and all my vehicles, but had Progressive on my boat. They are a good company. Interesting about the non coverage for living in your RV full time. Kind of weird why State Farm doesn't cover that. Glad this topic was brought up for other full time RV'rs, who might now want to check with their company to make sure they are covered.

Failure to disclose relevant information when applying for insurance could result in denial of any claims because the terms and conditions of the policy were violated. Best to find a company that will insure full timers.

Insurance

We have been with State Farm for over 40 years, I have never had a claim denied. It all started back in 1967 when i came back from Nam for the 2nd time,I bought a 1966 GTO with tri-power. State Farm was the only company that would insure the GTO, told the agent i was going to drive it from my home in Harrisburg, Pa. to Fort Huachuca in Arizona, that was no problem. When we got our Montana the agent did ask if we were going to full time, I told him no but that we would spend every winter in Florida. That was no problem, I think alot has to do with your agent whenever i had a claim i would always let the agent know first. When we lost a window in the Montana coming back from Calif. State Farm covered the cost of replacing it. And I did cause them some grief when i had the GTO. Our Montana is a 2017 3791RD. Truck is a 2019 Silverado diesel DRW.

Charlie I have State L and they advised me to get renter's coverage for our 5th wheel 345 RL They will cover damage from storms, wrecks, blow outs, etc. minus the deductable. I have a residential address where we stay part of the time we are not traveling. I don't know if we would have rental coverage while traveling. I hope I don't have to find out.

Progressive RV policy also covers property in storage if you have done that. They even have $1,000 accident coverage for each of your dogs if they are ever injured in a traffic accident. Both coverages aren't extra cost.
Been with them 4 years & rates have actually been dropping a small amount with each 6 month renewal for 5TH wheel & F350.

I have been with Farmers insurance co. For well over 20 years and they cover my ram and my Montana. It is an addendum to the ram but it covers my like a homeowners policy, especially the liability aspect. About 1100/ 6mo

Well I need to know of a insurance company that will cover us as full timer's. Any help would be greatly appreciated....
We went to National General. They were about the only one to insure full time living

I learned the hard way 2 things. If you don't claim "full time" then not only do they not pay you, but they also will sue you. Didnt happen to me, but my Dad owns a large tow company and we found this out.
From personal experience, I can tell you that Progressive does provide full timers insurance, but you have to be at a commercial or state funded campground. Progressive has small print in their policies that will not cover your unit on private land. Few companies actually do. Foremost Insurance is one, and that is who I use. It costs a smidgen more, but the fine print matters.

Stay away from Good Sam. Their rates are grossly overpriced.

Thanks man but we took care of it all ready. I do appreciate the input. I do have a question for you.

I see that your from Dunnifan, and I guess California. Never hear of Dunnifan, I have heard and been to Dunnigan Ca, About 40 miles north of Sacramento Ca. Where is Dunnifan?

We went full time in June of 2019. We had All State for almost 40 years prior but they will not insure a full time RV without us owning our a hose. (We sold the house) We found National General had the best coverage and could bundle it in one package; truck and trailer. We also got the personal liability coverage found with a traditional home owners policy. Progressive could insure us but they required a separate policy for the truck and trailer which increased the cost. There are other smaller companies that can do full time RV but could not do the truck. We lived in AZ at the time we started full timing so maybe your state of residence makes a difference. Typical insurance companies like State Farm and All State want to see a permanent residence and tie the vehicle and RV to it. We haven't had to use National General but others at the Escapees rally in Tucson last year spoke highly of their claim service.

Interesting comments and thank you everyone for sharing,
Have State Farm for way too many years I guess but when I asked about insuring our Montana they said no we don't insure them (Michigan) so I went elsewhere with a Good Sam Company (Nationwide) but we don't full time. (Just seems that way)
