maiden trip

We moved into our new 3150 Wed evening, 4/22, with the help of Rondo and his wife (Ron and Mary)who so garaciously volunteered their services. (Maybe the motive was to see the new rig) They were a great help-do you realize how much "stuff" you get in 5 years? After staying overnight in the dealer's lot we headed out for a long weekend campout.

First problem, we couldn't figure out how to shut off the scare light and hitch light but then we discovered that the remote shuts them off--I sort of remembered reading somthing like that on the forum so thanks to the MOC.

Everything went well--after the second a/c was put on and the morRyde Hitch installed that the factory forgot to put on--

Mostly a few minor problems but Paul did find a board that is part of the frame for the refrigerator that is broken (split)--it was worse today when he showed it to to the dealer. Looks like they broke it when installing the refrigerator and tried to screw it together--the screw job didn't work--Paul found it when he took the grill off under the refer to vacume the dirt out--there was really minimal construciton dirt that we found. He would maybe have not found it but there was a electric outlet on the floor and he was searching to figure it out--it looks like the referigerator should have been plugged in there but then they changed it to a different place. The dealer is calling Keystone on this, maybe will have to take to factory but at least they can do a temporary fix.

Both TV's are HiDefinition but the surround sound didn't work, probably a wire loose but we didn't take the time to figure it out. there were a couple of other minor problems like the bathroom door sticks some, and the bedspread is very wrinkled--looks like a kid sewed it together and didn't get the fabric straight--makes it looks like someone slept on the bed and the wrinkles won't come out. A noisy bathroom fan. Carpet edge rolls under when slide is being put in. Oh, the graphics aren't exactly matched straight either--another call into the factory is being done on that one.

We had 89 degree weather Friday and 40 degree weather Sat and Sun so thanks to our Midwest weather we could test both ac and furnace.

We are all moved in and everything arranged. Very comfortable and we love the interior and we are looking forward to our next camping trip.

Glad to hear you had a "relatively" error free shakedown trip. I sure am envious of you with the Hickory Edition. We saw that at the Fall Rally last year and it is beautiful. I have to quit thinking that way or I could get the itch and can't affor to get the itch again, Tow vehicle was enough in one year....I ended up junking my OEM surround sound system and added a quality Yamaha system and an HDTV. We are fulltimers and need a good TV system. Good luck in future travels and may you have as few problem as we have had....

Jan and Paul -
Thanks for the update. We are glad you got your A/C and Mor Ryde hitch. We had our dealer double check to make sure that the factory didn't miss those on ours. We are hoping that ours is at the dealer a week from today (May 4th). We will be unloading at home this weekend.

Glad to hear the shake down went smooth. Continued good luck with your new unit. Enjoy it in good health.

Congratulations on the new unit. It’s always exciting when someone gets a new unit. It sounds like you’re getting things worked out with it.

We were told during our acceptance of our unit that surround sound works only for the entertainment system (DVD) not the regular television which seems to be true. Since we have added DirecTV we now have surround sound for t.v. shows and DVDs.

Congrats on the new rig, we know what you're talking about moving from one rig to the new one. We hope that some day we can get together with you and Rondo, we can have a mini rally. But you probably won't let us park to close to yours with our old rig. Have a great day and enjoy.

I ran an audio cable from the audio out pin on the TV to an aux input on the DVD player to get the TV sound thru the entertainment system. Much better sound than the TV.
Don't have DirectTV or Dish yet.
