Man alive, am I ever glad that I get to go camping this weekend. This thread has introduced wild thoughts into my brain such as:
Airline pilots and passengers looking down on the highways and byways of our great country noticing bright whitish specks travelling on the roads seeking an explanation from the stewardess. The answer, "Oh, that is one of them thar Montana Owners Club members. They started a thread about cleaning their roofs and the next day thousands climbed up their ladders and "Got 'r dun!!!!!!" Keep 'em shiny side up this weekend fellow MOCer's (note: this does not apply to Richfaa....he said he ain't doing it!!!) Ha Ha!!!

If I remember correctly, Dicor suggests the Blue Dawn to clean AND no protector stuff required.

Call us lazy, ya, we are, you know, limited amounts of energy and stuff in these old bodies, try to preserve said energy, etc etc etc.

We wash with the blue Dawn, and no more. Two times a year, if we can get to it.

Heard the protect stuff only last 30 days or so anyway, a lot of work for 30 days??

Yep, we (even tho it is AL doing all the work) is lazy.

Bingo...good thing you are not near me in Gettysburg.Your shinny Montana and super white roof would make my 3400 look even grungier. We will be washing the 3400 over the next few days,,Blue dawn only.We will bring our sun glasses so we can view all the sparkling Montana's wihout harm.

I thought I'd read the instructions for the roof that came with the Montana. Here's what they say regarding cleaning:

"For normal cleaning, use Dicor Roof Cleaners (RP-RC320S spray or RP-RC160C concentrate) or standard products such as 409, Fantastic, or mild detergent are sufficient. Do not use harsh abrasives, or products containing solvents. For stubborn stains, a rag dampened with mineral spirits is recommended. DO NOT SOAK.(Do not apply mineral spirits directly to roof)."

I appreciate the manual information, but I think I will stick with the blue Dawn and a scrub brush (although I might upgrade to a brush with a stick!!). I guess the blue Dawn serves as a mild detergent. Seemed to have worked very well!
