Norcold 1210 Freezer Shelf

I just replaced the cooling unit on my fridge blah, blah, blah. Anywho as I was wrapping things up and putting the shelves back in the freezer I noticed that one of the wires that makes up the shelf has a curios bend in it from the factory. Does anyone know why?

It is there to keep the ice cube trays from sliding around. The factory trays slide over the bend. At least that's what I have in the same model fridge. And if you install it upside down, it may inhibit the size of the ice cream container you store.

Thank you Ranch 560. I don't want anything interfering with my ice cream container.
