Tank Heaters
We were discussing this in a different thread. I checked the tank heaters and they are DC powered. I measured the current draw for each:
Black 7.3A
Gray 3.3A (seems odd since there are two gray tanks)
Fresh 3.9A
The heaters do not run through any of the DC fuses in the converter panel, nor either of the two fuses connected directly to my battery, so I have no idea where the heaters are fused.
I also wish mine had lighted switches like some others; I may change them out.

My 2017 3720 has the switches lighted. They must have changed partway thru the model year.

I found that the tank heaters are connected to one of the breakers in the battery compartment. White wire with brown tracer.

Thanks Scott - good info. Surprising to me this is 12V. Will check mine to see if the switches are lighted - I have never used them.
Is Kodiac a Chocolate lab? We lost ours last summer at only 6 years.

I have not used mine either, just wanted to know a little more about them. Of course, pulling the current that they do, you could not run them long without shore power; even if they are DC.
Yes Kodiak is a chocolate lab; 12 years old now.

Agree that the white with brown is the wire to tank heaters off the breaker. Was finally answered by Tracy Peffley at Keystone confirming 12vdc. Mine pull floating amps but less than you are seeing. I'll try them again later individually. 100 watts seems a bit high for the black tank. They do seem to be thermostatically controlled. Mine switch off and on.

I have not left mine on long enough to check that out; the unit is winterized with no liquids so I can't leave them on. I don't really plan on using these, but I like to know what is going on in the belly of the beast.

Our 17 3160RL has lite tank heater switches, must have been an option.
