Info Center

I have a 2016 F350 diesel DRW LB. Got it in Oct 2016. All of a sudden on a trip I am on the information screen, on all screens shows in a vertical column the numbers, 6 through 1, with 6 on the top. It appears these are the gears the truck is shifting through. They have never been there before and I am unable to determine why they are there or how to get rid of them. Are they trying to tell me something other than the gear the truck is in? The shift lever is in D NOT M. They are there whether the cruise control is on or not.

The button on the shifting column that you use to shift when in manual wil turn this off and on when in drive.

Correct! I like the readout of gear usage.

My truck has always shown those gear indications. But the DW's Expedition has sometimes shown them and sometimes not. Guess waynemoore has explained why.

My F150 had the gear numbers then they disappeared. I had a hard time figuring how to get them back.

The "+' and "-" buttons on the gear shift control which transmission gears are available (in Drive mode, in Manual mode they are how you shift). Each press of "-" locks out a gear staring with 6 and working down to 2. A locked out gear is not available for the transmission to up shift to. Pressing "+" unlocks a gear in ascending number. Once 6th gear is unlocked, a subsequent press of "+" will cause the gear number display to be turned off. Simply pressing "-" will restore the display once again.
