12 volt power question

I lost the power to the 12 volt lights on one of my slides.I've dropped the lights and checked the connections and they were good but there is no power going to the lights. The fuse is not blown and there are no lights on the power box on indicating a open circuit.Any suggestions on finding were I lost the power from.I assume I lost a connection somewhere.

I would start at the junction splice for that slide. It will be near the frame and probably on the rear area of the slide. It would help if you told us the year and model of your Montana. Good luck.

I had that problem, wasn't in the junction box, they had put crimp on connectors where the wire ran from the trailer to the junction box, with no heat shrink or tape to protect them from moisture. Lying on the aluminum skirting with 12 volts to it of course it corroded in two. Easy fix once found.

garyka, I am having a similar problem. I have a 06 3650RK. I lost power to my fridge after a move,no 12volt power I found out after checking. Temporarily tied into power for range hood. Two days later that went out along with lights over inland in kitchen and light over the couch. I now have a temp wire run straight from panel box to range hood and fridge. I was hoping the wires ran under the rig for easier fix. NO DICE! They run in the ceiling I found out. The 110 volt runs under the rig. I am still trying to convince the better half to let me tear down the ceiling . She says to take it to a dealer for the fix. I don't want to shell out that kind of money when I can do it myself.I am just hoping that is where the problem is, I don't want to take down the ceiling for nothing.

junglejim, I have had some luck finding open wires using a toner and hand held amplifier. Lots of electricians, phonemen and cable television guys use them. If you have access to such equipment or know someone who does it may help pinpoint the problem w/o tearing the entire ceiling down. Jim
hopefully adding pictures on edit.

Jim, thank you so much for that reply! I never seen or heard of such equipment or procedures. I will definatly check this out. Hopefully I can find someone with this equipment who is willing to do it for me, since I would not have a clue what I am doing with it. Again thank you!
