2017-F350 Dually On-board air compressor
Have any of you installed an on-board air compressor? If so, where did you locate it? Are you happy with the location of the air compressor? Just wanting to find out any of your thoughts on the air compressors location. I will be installing Airlift Air Bags along with an Air Lift on-board air compressor this weekend. Thank you in advance for any prompt replies.

On are 2008 Dodge 3500 Dually I mounted it way in the back so that the air lines are nice and short.

I had a Tacoma and added airlift - compressor under the hood, controller in the console with dual gauges (one for each side). I could just hear it run. Also had manual fills on rear bumper

2013 F350 DRW and I mounted a Viair mounting bracket onto a "bolt around" bracket I made for the frame to keep from drilling it. I just wanted to see if it would work. It did. The air tank is just in front of it done the same way.

quite the set up - any concern of heat that close to exhaust?

Not at all. The frame actually shields the heat from everything on that side. I have it wired to my #1 upfitter switch and have a dual pneumatic gauge from Firestone under the steering column so I can add and subtract air any time the road conditions change. Also, I put an air quick couple under the passenger rear door, and carry 50ft of air hose so I can add air to bike tires, truck and camper tires. I then went back and added a ball valve right under the door to stop the slight air leak from the quick coupler.

I done the same as you golf. I also put my train horns up in front. No problems at all for 5 yeas now.
I also use the upfitter switches to lift and lower my airbags.

For the air bag compressor the best place to put it is above your spare tire. I did this on my 2012 F350 and it worked perfectly. Very little noise inside the cab. YouTube has a video of someone putting airbags on a 2017 F350.

I have the Air Lift kit with the wireless heavy duty compressor. I mounted it to the underside of the bed, above the spare tire. It works well. The only issue is the range of the wireless controller is marginal from inside the cab; it usually works but sometimes it takes a couple of attempts. This is not really a problem, since I usually set the airbags during hook up and don't need to make any other adjustments. The F350 did not really need air bags; the Montana was still a touch nose high (B&W Companion as low as possible) without air bags. However, I found that running about 30psi greatly improved the ride without increasing the hitch height; especially on some of the choppy interstates. I run minimum pressure (5psi) when not towing.

Great job with all of this. I installed dual Bags on our 2017 Platinum but they are split and manually inflated. I wanted to do some deeper research on gauges and compressors and then wire it all to the nice Upfitter Switches. I am waiting for warmer weather to dig into this and make it all more automatic.
I like that you kept the runs short and the braided line!

I placed mine under the truck against the inner frame member under the rear seat. Works great, no issues
