Not a golfer but seeing those two Big Skies side by side makes me want to figure out how to afford one.....we went to a dealer and a show and no one had one....guess will have to wait for the new one coming out....

Vickie and I will play and if there is enough interest, I'll find us a course.

Jim, When are you going to get more "color" on your states map?

sola123... a set of beginner clubs are cheaper than a new rig. As one who just started up with golf, I find it's fun, but you do have to dedicate yourself somewhat. I picked up a frequent driving range card so I can practice and practice. Rest assured at my age and how my body works I'll be practicing forever. It's worse than bowling. If you miss in bowling, the gutters keep the ball in check. Can't say the same for an errant golf ball. Good thing I can't hit that far, yet. Learn the word "FORE!".

Art,
The other choice is to use those golf courses that are equipped with the berms and obstacles around them to keep the ball in the playing field. That is the approach I take and have not lost a ball yet, although there have been times when a "fore" was warranted when one of the daughters go over-zealous! Fortunately there are an abundance of these types of courses in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. You just have to look for the unique signs that show that they are constructed in this manner. They usually say "Miniature Golf"!!!

We go to River Plantation a lot and usually play at Danville Golf. It is back east on I 40. A little distant but nice for the price. It is a 27 hole course and after the 18 they sometime let you play the other 9 cheap.

Yup Bingo, mini golf is a great option and I was pretty good at it. But now, the mini golf courses around here don't like when I bring my own clubs especially when I reach for the driver. I know one of these days, I'll get arrested for attempted assault with some of the errant swings I've done. The most odd thing is that I recommend taking up golf to everyone. I'll have to have a new T-shirt made up that says "A bad day of golf is better than a good day sitting around and doing nothing while being retired". That's gonna have to be a pretty big shirt.
