AC System on 2014 Montana

I have a 2014 Montana 3582 and I was using it for the second time this weekend. The RV Park we were staying at only had 30 amp service. We were trying to use the living room air conditioner. We set the AC at 65 degrees and it was staying at that temp but we took off for a couple of hours and when we came back the temp outside was 95 deg and the inside temp was up to 87 deg. Not much air coming out the vents. I did not notice much difference when the fan speed was low or high. I looked at the owners manual and it was not much help. I am not sure if the compressor is shutting off. I am not sure if 30 amps is not enough to run the AC or not. It is an old park so not sure if I have a problem with my AC unit or if the park has a problem. Sometimes I would try to change the mode and nothing would happen. I did a reset and did not see a change. The owners manual did not have much information on how you are suppose to use the AC. Do I have it programmed wrong? Has anybody had this problem?

If it's very humid outside then the unit most likely froze up. Turn the thermostat to fan only and cool to off. Let the fan run on HI for a while until you feel a considerable increase in the amount of air coming from the vents. Then turn the unit back to cool mode, leave the fan in manual mode and on HI instead of AUTO. The larger volume of air will prevent the coil from freezing up again. The fan will continue to run even when the compressor kicks off but beats a frozen unit. Hope this helps. Tim

I agree with Tim but let me add one more thing, even if everything is working properly with the size of your unit and at 95 degrees outside temp, don't expect much more than a 10-12 degree shift in inside temp with only one A/C unit on.

Recommend 2nd AC. Agree with what has been said. In NC at our dealer we order all of ours with 2, humidity being very high here most times.

Checking the voltage is important. Many times in older parks the voltage can drop to the point that your air conditioner can be damaged

X3 on voltage. At 30 amps you be on low voltage depending how the park is wired and if they have enough transformers. We had that issue last year with 50 amp service at a park in NYS and we got down as low as 100 volts. I had to quickly get a Hughes Autoformer and problem solved.

So far the subsequent parks we have been in since we have not needed the autoformer but it is good insurance to have.
