3625RE weight

My wife and I have been looking at the 3625RE. I have a 2002 7.3 F350. The GVW of the 3625 is around 15700. Am I going to have a problem? I am not good at the weight stuff, but it looks tight to me. What do you think?

I believe that surpasses what's recommended as far as fifth wheel tow rating of any 2002 Ford up to the 1 ton F350. You will probably need a dually. Do you know your truck's ratings and the current weight numbers, like the curb weight, laden weight before any trailer, and weight when your current trailer is hitched up?

Other things to consider.... differential ratio, 4x4 or 4x2, std cab, crew cab or ext cab. You really should calculate that as much as 25% of that 15,700 pounds (3900#)could be carried on the rear axle of your truck. In my case, I carry between 19% and 20% on my 2006 truck and I am very close to my ratings, but I do know I am weight compliant.

Remember to figure in the amount of stuff you're going to load in there. Many folks are shocked when they have their rig weighed that they are over weight. They were fine when it was empty, but humans need their stuff.

I have the 2013 3625re and haul it with a 2011 F-250 6.7 diesel. I believe you are adding the Carrying capacity of 3,000 lbs to the rig weight 12,700 to get the 15,700. I have not loaded 3,000 lbs of "stuff" (yet). I am remiss in taking the rig to the scales and will do so this summer.

We purchased it on the road last summer and completed a 3 month tour of the Western US (over 10,000 miles) with no problems. I know the numbers are probably close, but its what I have!

We do love the 3625re!

I had a 2001 Ford F-250 and the GVW was 8800# and I was 1000# over my GVW of the truck pulling a 2880 Montana with a Onann generator up front. Your 2002 Ford F-350 probably has 9900# GVW which doesn't have much cargo carrying ability. Those year Fords don't have much carrying ability because the truck itself weighs so much. I'm sure (IMHO) you will be way over your GVW on the truck.

Time to get a new Chevy!!!! We pull our 2012 3625RE Big Sky with a 3500 Silverado. Haven't weighed it yet but the sticker says 13,200 for weight.

These new trucks are beasts. With the exhaust brakes I barely use the brakes at all. Even going down mountain passes.

Love our 3625 as well!

Very true. People don't realize how heavy the Ford PSD is.

I am not sure the difference between the GVWR of a 2002 F350 and a 2012 F350 (both being SRW). With my tow package/snow plow package my GVWR is about 11,300 and the Monte I believe was about 15,000 plus. When towing I barely know the Monte is hooked up. The F350 squats about 2 inches. Having bags put on just so I can bring it back up so my headlights will be perfect and maybe smooth the ride out a little. I am comfortable with my TV handling the Monte.

Hmmm. I also received an e-mail with info to consider. Thanks for the input. I went to the scales today to see what my TV weight would be as I tow. With 5 big rigs in line, I was in the way so I will go back later. Thanks for the input. I appreciate it.

I assume your F350 is a dually. If so , you should do well.

The 3625RE is a heavy trailer and I would imagine I'm at the top limit as far as weight goes ( taking it across a scale is on the list somewhere)dry weight is around 12500 or so and max load for the 2012 6.7 is 15200 so yeah I bet I'm close. The deal is the truck is such a beast that it pulls it effortlessly and it's very easy to get carried away with speed with the only limiting factor being the trailers tires which were only rated at 62 mph, (those tires are long gone now) but the F250 and the 3625E are a good combination, it handles very well in all conditions, I have no complaints.

Hi

Our 3665RE has a GVW rating of 15,909 Lbs. We pull it with a 2009 Duramax 350 DRW and I will be over weight if I load the trailer to its GVW. I have never exceeded a total weight for the entire rig of 23,200 lbs and that put the trailer under its GVW by about 500 lbs.

These numbers are by memory so may not be totally correct but they are close.

Last but not least I advocate weighing your rig a couple of times a year. It only cost $6 at most scales.

My 08 F-350 has a Combined vehicle weight of 23,500 lbs. The 13 3402 has GVWR of 15,805 and the truck weighs in at @9,000lbs ready to tow for a combined weight of @24,805 over by @1305lbs on the Montana IF the Montana was at max GVWR.We have to keep the Montana under 14.500lbs and we do that without a problem. We do go on the scales at least once a year.

The truck would "pull it fine" but we prefer to stay within the spec's.

I have already made my thoughts known on weights of our TV and trailers and complying with the GVWR of both so won't go into that.

Richfaa the weights you give are with respect to the GCWR of your TV as specified by Ford. You don't say if the 9000 lbs on your TV is hooked up or not but I would guess by the weight it was "not".

Your 3402's shipping weight is 12,900 lbs if you say you "never" exceed 14,500 lbs, then everything you have in the trailer since you got it does not weigh more than 1600 lbs. I don't know what you have for added options and what you carry with you but that is not a lot of weight.

Since you scale your units at least once a year I would be interested in the weight at the axles of your RV when hooked up and the weight of your TV when hooked up.

I have "no" add on options on my 3402RL it's shipping weight was 12,890 lbs. When loaded and ready to go it weighed 15,255 that includes the 2799 lb pin weight. (no water in any tank) DAI Truck Scales - Guaranteed. I am right on the borderline on both my truck and Monty.

It does not take a lot to exceed the GVWR of the trailer by adding a second AC, W/D, Generator and other options combined with all of your personal items you stock the trailer with.

Of course I ask for interest sake only, because as you said "it will pull it fine".

Of course it was a joke, however many on this forum make that statement fully believing their TV "will pull it just fine" in spite of what their weights are.

I really was interested in your actual weights, for interest only, if you care to share them with this forum.
