Storms/rain
When will it end.Non stop rain for weeks. The ground can not hold any more water. Huge storm just passed through.Blinding rain, hail, Tornado warnings. Our street is a river, wall to wall fast flowing water. Never saw that before. large tree branches down next door.Sirens everywhere. We are on a high ridge of a ancient shore line of lake Erie and we are flooding. Water in the house on both sides of us. We only see a couple of damp spots along the outside wall in the downstairs pantry.
Nothing like other parts of the country but we are turning back into lake Erie. We just can't take anymore water.

Hang on to your hats...just saw on Channel 3 with Betsy that a tornado is headed up in that direction, along with severe thunderstorms; YIKES!!! Dick Goddard's probably all over that thing! Stay safe! D in Mansfield.

Damage reports coming in. Trees down, power lines down. Local just up the street several power poles on the ground sign of stright line winds. No Tornados reported on the ground but we saw the Vortex signature on the Radar It went just a bit south of us by a couple of miles.. Water spouts out on lake Erie. The hail had us concerned as that is a sign of updrafting and high internal winds in the storm. Tops were 32,000 feet and that is pretty good. Our FAA weather training comes in handy.
The water is the big concern..flooding everywhere and the ground is saturated. We never lost power..flickerd but stayed on.
This is the worst we have seen since the storms and flooding of 1964.
yes Good old Dick Goddard is on it. he hung around the FAA center in the old days and used our radar to track severe storms.....He is very good... When he says take shelter....you do it.

Sorry to hear about your weather problems... too bad you can't send some of that water to S/E corner of Colorado. They have a severe drought going on with no prospects of relief anytime soon.

It has started up again.More weather alerts. This is not good.. I had mentioned that water was running down the street curb to curb and deep..never saw that before and could not figure out were the water was coming from. When the rain stopped we and most of our neighbors went out to see what was going on.. The water was pouring off everyone's front lawns across the sidewalks over the tree lawns down the driveways and into the street from both sides. The ground was so saturated with water that it could hold no more and it was running off the top. It lasted for about 20 mins before it subsided. Unbelievable. There is no end in sight ..This is not a good thing..T

This has really been a strange year for weather all over the US. Most tornados in something like 60 years I think they said. We have been fortunate here with no damaging weather in the immediate area. But there have been tornados, high straight line winds, and large hail all around us. We did have quarter size hail day before yesterday. And the odd thing, there was no rain with it. Just pure hail for about 5 minutes.
We also need rain here as most all of Texas is in extreme to exceptional drought. But don't want the damaging kind. At least most all the fires are out or are under control now.

We had no real problems from the storm, crazy weather patterns. They are calling for t-storms for the next 7 days! Don't remember a year with all this rain?

Rich, you seen an ole man building a boat with lots of animals standing around?
It's the same over here in Hoosier land. The ground is so saturated that the water has no place to go. You can go out and spit on the ground and create a puddle.
Farmers are having a hard time getting their crops in. Just about the time it dries up enough for planting here comes another soaker. Some weather whiz on TV said all this is the result of some strange Jet Stream pattern.
I also think that this is contributing to all the flooding in Memphis and Miss. and La.

Wyoming is getting wet from rain, and the snow has not even started to melt. I get to interact with Emergency Management from the various counties in the state, and flooding concerns are not if, but when.

We are good.Damage around us. Bad storms like this are not uncommon in these parts. The problem is the amount of rain we have had. We have been Home since April 26th and it has rained near every day and it was a bad winter, lots of snow melt. The water table is actually at ground level. We are on one of the high ridges and we have flooding. We are 8 miles and 12,000 years from the present shoreline of lake Erie. There is a distinct line of ridges running East/West to the North indicating previous Lake Erie Shorelines. We are on the third ridge back.In between are areas that was the actual lake bed. More water is expected...

The Ohio Tpk and I-90 are built on the high ridges. These roads are never flooded. If it would just stop raining so things can drain we will be ok in a few days. More storms expected this afternoon.

Rain, rain go away! Rich, I think we've had only 3 or 4 days without rain in the last month and a half. Storming heavily now. Need about 2 or 3 more dehumidifiers in the basement. Our original "tough guy" just can't keep up!
