East Texas View
Shirley and I went for a drive (about 25 miles from home) this morning. Here is a photo I took. Maybe this will inspire some to visit East Texas:

Beautiful, David! We already know that East Texas is beautiful and that picture certainly confirms it.

David,
Such a great picture! I took a drive just last week and found something a little bit different, I would post it here but I do not want to upset all you snowbirds. I came across 8" of snow!!!! Oh how I would just love to trade places with you folks in the south. =)

Reminds me of the trips that we use to make between Rusk and Jacksonville and the red clover would cover the ground between the four lanes and on both shoulders of the highway. A truly beautiful drive this time of year.

We have been to east Texas many times. Love the area and contrary to what some people might think, Texans are very nice people.

Thanks to all the good neighbors and friends who have responded. Garin1, we are really close neighbors to Louisiana. Our first home together was in Waskom, Texas -- right on the LA border, and we still get most of our local television from Shreveport stations. Maybe that helps us to be nicer people !

We're coming out your way as soon as we pick up our new 2955 in Tucson. Mom lives in Rockwall. Thanks for the pix.

Scattershot, as you see we also have a 2955, but ours is now 4 years in use. We are still very happy with it, and it is still our pick of the Montana models (for our use, that is).
Hope you will get in touch when you are in this part of the world. Send me an email though my profile if you wish to establish regular email contact. We would like to hear from you and maybe we can get together.
