Need understanding of Black tank flush

I think if I know how the black tank flush works I will be able to flush tank more efficient.
Is it jets or a spinner in tank? 1 jet or spinner or multiple? Is it good to put on flush a while before dumping to mix things up? I do have a clear 45 on my discharge so can see when dump is clear.

There are several ways to use the rinser. I believe mine has fixed ports since the sound of it is constant. At times I will kink and let go of the hose repeatedly to add action to the spray. I find it most useful to use after the tank has drained. The most effective thing for me is to raise the front of the trailer during the whole process.

I have never actually observed the black tank sprayer on a Montana or our current fiver. Years ago I abandoned using the OEM black tank flush and purchased a KingFlush. With the KingFlush I feel like after doing several flushes not only is my tank cleaner but the sewer pipe also gets cleaned out. In addition, I can close off my black gate valve and backflush my gray tank, which really helps keep any odor from there down.

I believe the ones installed in the Montanas have multiple holes to form a spray pattern. But no moving parts.

My procedure:
Completely drain black tank
Close black tank drain valve
Turn on water to flush system
Let it run 2-3 minutes
Letting it run, open the black tank drain valve
Look at the clear extension to see what is coming out
Close black tank drain valve
Let flush run 2-3 minutes
Open the drain valve and watch contents
Repeat until I no longer see solids coming out
Water never turns completely clear, but is only faintly brown
Good enough for me for 14 years.

Just do not walk away or get distracted while flush is running and drain valve is closed.

I do similar except I quit timing the flush as I installed a flow gauge and will put in 35 to 40 gals at least 3 times and when I'm done the water coming out is as clear as the water going in.
Oh, by the way, when I'm done the Black sensor will read Empty.

Imagine a plastic fitting with three holes drilled in its face. That is what is installed in the very front of the black tank. Replaced mine when it got plugged after many years of use. I also installed a check valve in place of the pipe nipple keystone used in between the rinse fitting and the pex pipe at the front of the tank. That way once i turn off the rinse water, nothing flows backwards into the rinse fitting which can plug it again in time.

I saw a YouTube video recently - can’t remember the name - but a guy had a nozzle he developed to put on the end of a power wash hose and he would run it up into the black and grey tank thru the hose back flush connection on the clear outlet elbow. It flat cleaned everything out big time!

One thing they mention on the Montana Factory Tour on YouTube, is to raise the front of your rig to get a better flush. I do this when I can and at the end of our road trip to get a better flush. The bathroom grey tank drain s better too.
For the galley grey tank I lower the front down. This tank drains the opposite way.
Experiment with your rig, up, down, left, right.

I do the same as Michelle & Ann. Use an inexpensive hose meter and that way you know exactly how much water you put in the tank. After I'm done, I always put 5-10 gallons of water in and leave it. That way I can start out the next cycle with plenty of water to keep from having the poop pyramid.

I believe it's just a fixed spray pattern. I've never used it; I've never had a blockage.

The OEM black tank sprayer is a joke... Piece of fixed plastic with some holes in it...

The other part in the built in black tank flush that's a joke and WILL flood your Montana is the anti siphon valve that's in line with that

I don't use mine and haven't used any built in sprayer in decades... I use the Valtera King flush and clean out my black and both gray tanks and I dont worry about flooding from a cheap plastic anti siphon valve..
