Galley Holding Tank

We have a 2008 Montana 3400RL and on our last trip the dreaded galley holding tank valve handle and rod decided to part part company with us somewhere on the way back home. I checked the Trekwood website without luck and then checked the Valterra website where they have replacement rod and handle assemblies available in several different lengths. My question is do any of you that have had to replace this part happen to know the correct length to get?

Clean bottom around exit hole with isopropyl alcohol about a foot square. Cut a u shape flap that opens and closes to the rear. Open flap and measure from valve body where rod attaches to the bottom at the same angle that the rod would if still there. Add a couple inches to this measurement or more depending on where you feel the handle should be. When resealing the flap, use gorilla tape to seal up your flap.

FYI use Trekwood as a LAST RESORT for any purchases. They are prone to over charge for the item and rip you a new one on the shipping cost.

Go to any RV shop. They have them in a bin in back. Should cost around $10. 12” should be a good length. Just had to replace mine.
