Chucking seems to be more noticeable.
We have now had our 2020 3931FB for just over a year. We have the standard Pin Box that came with our rig. Our last trip took us up through PA., New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and into Maine. The roads in some places were not that good. But it seemed that the unit was chucking more that usual. I am wondering if I were to consider a new pin box, what one would you all recommend to lesson the chucking.

A lot of folks have installed MORryde. They used to be standard equipment.

For the last two in person rallies I was the vendor coordinator. I was more than surprised by how many folks dumped the new or almost new pinbox that came on their rig to go to the Morryde pin box that used to come on Montanas. Personally, I also prefer the Morryde.

We have over 75,000 miles on our trailer with the original MorRyde pin box and have been very happy with it's ability to control chucking. I would also recommend their pin box. In all those miles, I have not had to do any repairs to it. This is the link to their site for the pin boxes, and you click on the Fit Chart link to determine which MorRyde pin box will replace the one you have. https://www.morryde.com/products/rubber-pin-box/

I have the MorRyde pin box on my '20 330RL, no problems at all.
I took most of the "chucking" out of the ride by replacing the hitch, not the pin box. I installed the BW Companion hitch for the factory puck system on my truck. Good move!

I have seen pin boxes with - what looks to be a shock absorber - on them. I think various manf. make them. Do those things remove more chucking than the Morryde? Or are they comparable?

I had bad chucking. Installed a Reese 5th Airborn pin box. It's got an airbag and shock absorber inside the pin box. Completely solved the chucking problem.
Trail-Air is the one with the shock absorber on the outside. Trail-Air is twice the price of the Reese.

Being a retired trucker I recommend you first experiment with weight distribution of your Montana. You might not have ENOUGH pin weight. I have had the MorRyde pin box and the current one and couldn't tell any difference. Pin weight should be between 19 and 24%. Sometimes people will want pin weight as little as possible and wind up over doing it.

Factory pin box works fine for me IF the FW tank is at least 1/2 full. My FW tank is in front of the axels and more PW is needed. Pulling the 3761 FL with a 2019 F350 dually.

I have a 41’ HC. Original pin box was horrible, standard Lippert. I went with the Lippert Air Ride because the Flex Air was not available for my pin box. Still, made a huge difference. Doesn’t totally eliminate checking but greatly reduces it and was worth every penny. I believe the Flex Air would reduce it further as it has more horizontal absorption than the Air Ride. Either way, they are great pin boxes and love mine. The bigger the rig the more tendency for chucking just because of their weight. I’ve ridden with people that claim they have no checking. Baloney! Depends on how big the bump is and overall condition of the road. The upgraded pin boxes definitely mitigate the checking.

We recently installed the Reese Goose Box. It has the shocks and the air bag and it works great. The original on the trailer was a Lippert Pin Box with a Goose Neck extension on it. We installed the B&W roll over ball. Love it since, we don't have to move a heavy piece of equipment in and out of the truck when not towing. If there is a down side to the Reese, even with the 4" extension ball can only do about an 85 degree turn. Hasn't been a problem.

Jack, that is the one I'm going to get. Glad to hear you like it. I'm currently using an Anderson.

Robert, We took our first trip to the Oregon coast two weeks ago and the difference was amazing. We also added Firestone air bags. Between the two it was much more pleasant. As i mentioned i really like the Goosebox for connection. The roll over ball is easy to use and leaves the full truck bed when not towing.
Good luck with yours.

Another vote for the MorRyde
I installed the MorRyde on my last trailer (a Bighorn) and my current Montana came with one (Cheap *** have now gone with a different pin box to save some $). Have never had a problem with chucking with the MorRyde.

I have had 4 different Trailer Saver Air ride 5th wheel hitches, no chucking at all, 5th wheel pin box floating on Air. I have the BDG 5 G with the 2021 Montana 3762BP the Montana. Great 5th wheel hitches. I highly recommend the Trailer Saver Air ride 5th wheel hitches. No I'm not paid by Trailer Saver, I have used Trailer Saver under many 5th wheels.
Happy trails.
