Hi I own a 3791RD 2021. And was wondering if anyone out there has the height measurements from pavement to to of A/C when traveling under bridges. Thanks for any help

If I were you I would not trust anyone's info or the specs for the rig. Get on top with a tape measure and a 4 foot level and measure from the ground to the top of your front AC. Have someone on the ground to assist you. It should be in the range of 13'-4" or less. Measure on level ground with it hooked to your truck.

I agree. Depending upon your TV, the height can vary a few inches. I have a 2019 3791RD that was originally pretty nose high. I measured it at 13' 6.5". I dropped my hitch height to the lowest level and brought it down to 13' 5". It is still just a bit nose high, but it rides great I don't want to fool with moving the pin box. Also, I don't want any less clearance at the truck bed rails.
Anything less than 15 to 16 foot clearance and I'll find another route. I don't want to be that close!

I’m at 13’6” and went under a 14’1” posted bridge this week.

We are 13'4" hitched and have been under this bridge going into Glacier NP.
DW got out and spotted me from the sidewalk on the right, just in case they resurfaced the road and didn't update the sign.

The only safe way to know is to measure it yourself hooked up to your tow vehicle, and probably unloaded. Our HC is with 85 series tires is 13'5", not 12'11" as noted by Keystone

MY 2013 is specced at 12'9 - I just looked it up. I thought it was more like 13'1. Actual height is 13'4 or 5 because I am 1-2 inches nose high to get bed clearance. I would get nervous going under a 13'6 bridge tho, because as mentioned above, the surface may be redone and added an inch or 2. I think I HAVE gone under 13'9 and only slightly worried. lol

According to the Keystone Montana web site, it's 13'4". All bridges that allow trucks are a minimum of 13'6" that is why the truck specific atlas is great or a RV specific GPS like garmin RV1090.

After measuring from my AC to the pavement, I measured from the top of my LP tank door to the pavement and subtracted the two. Then I printed a label giving me the height from the top of the AC to the top of that door. . . a fixed dimension that can only change if I replace the AC unit.


New tires, hitch changes, pinbox change, pressure in the airbags or just the load in your truck bed can alter the overall height. If I come upon a low clearance I can just measure from the ground to that door, add the two together and know exactly my height on that day, under those conditions.


Probably overkill, but it makes me feel better.

Hi Jim,
I have a '16 3791 and I fit under a bridge marked 13'6" in Amarillo. Don't think I wasn't nervous! My sphincter was drawn up tight, but we made it!

I checked mine when I first got it and it was 13' 4" bot don't take my word for what yours is. I strongly encourage you to park it on level ground when hooked up for towing and take the measurement for your rig. As a matter of fact, since I have added air bags to the rear suspension of my truck, I should probably measure mine again. All that said, I always assume that mine is 13' 6" just for a small margin of safety. 13' 6" is the statutory height limit in many states. Filling station canopies are always risky because you never know if the stated clearance is before or after they added the light fixtures and security cameras.

Many bridges or overhangs have more clearance than marked. DOT folks are good at remarking clearances if something changes.

I was told that the federal standard minimum height clearance is 14'. I usually try to stick to Interstate and US Highways as much as possible for that reason. I've never encountered anything less than 14' on these roads. Local and state roads follow a different standard sometimes.

Assume you're 13' 6" and you'll stay out of trouble. You are as tall as most 18 wheelers.

I agree with the measure crowd. Truck, tires, hitch, pin box, AC, satellite dishes, load, model and other factors make your height different than others. You will rest easier if you measure it.

MorRyde IS install took me from 13'2" to 13'4" to get rig more level

It really depends on your truck. Some are higher and some squat more than others. If you cant measure it (I did it with an 8 foot 2x4 across may AC), assume 14'.

I went to a DIY car wash and the 5th wheel was too high.

Went home and used a piece of wood, a level and a tape measure and the height of my front AC is...

Not doubting WhatExit?'s measurement in the least, but not understanding how this can be possible without suspension alterations on both the fiver and truck??? Help me understand this one. I drove semi's 1.75M miles in a prior life time and I can't wrap my head around this one. Will appreciate folk's input.

You MUST measure while hitched.
As I posted above we are 13'4".
This just happened to us...
We had reservations at Fort Belvoir VA. i95 north traffic was at a standstill at Woodbridge VA.
Google maps suggested taking US ROUTE 1 north to Ft Beloir.
We did NOT check the route using RV Parky (warns of low bridges)
We got off at the next exit. It was stop and go traffic (traffic lights) but at least it was moving.
Finally things opened up and we were moving along. We passed through Colchester Va then we saw a low bridge sign
13'4" !!!!
I slowed to a near walking speed and looked hard at the bridge. I knew we would have to back up, in traffic, for miles to turn around.
We decided to go for it and went under at walking speed. We did not hear any crunching or dragging and made it out the other side.
I inspected the roof when we got to our location.
No problem.
I'm guessing they pad the numbers when they measure the bridge thank God.
