Front bedroom AC
I'm having a Coleman Mach3 13500 btu AC installed in the bedroom next week at my dealer. They claim that is the best unit. Any alternative units you all might suggest or negatives on Coleman unit.

You'll find fans of Coleman and fans of Penguin and folks who've had issues with both. We went with a full size 15,000 in the front bedroom, but we spend the summers in Kansas where several weeks over 100 are normal. We close the dump during the day and let the front unit help with the rest of the house thru the duct work. The issue with the full size unit is how much it raises the hight of your rig particularly if you plan to run around the Northeast where low bridges are numerous.

We put a 15k btu on the front too. But with our rig the bedroom roof slopes to the front and if you already have the bathroom vent covers on, it is about the same height.

We had the Penguin 13.5K installed on ours. Most of the time we only use it to help cool the trailer down when we first stop at a park on a hot day. Then turn it off before night and only use the rear 15K. The front one is pretty loud. But has worked fine for us so far.
Don't really remember reading much bad about either brand.

I went with the 13,500 Penguin due to lower height. I understand the Penguin II is an improved unit with a different air distribution box. My Mountaineer does not have the ducting for the second unit. All in all, it has worked great through the Florida high humidity nine month long summers. We use it mostly upon arrival for a quick cool down, then at night let the LR 15,000 take over. I imagine your Coleman will work good as well.

If you have the Dual Zone T-stat and the remote sensor already installed (most newer Montanas come that way) the Penguin is the way to go. Will interface with the T-stat. Is the dealer installing a T-stat for that Coleman, or is it just the controls on the front of the unit. Your choice, we had the Penguin added to our Monty and made plenty of use of it.

Last year we had CW install the 13,500 Penguin II in our front bedroom due to lower height. Works great!
