Dirty carpet from slideout rollers
What can be done to stop rollers from leaving dirty roller tracks on carpet? I have already taken roller pads off and cleaned them but it still comes back after using the slideouts several times.

My montana has no rollers on the slides, but I use this device ... keeps the dirt and wear down on the carpet where the ends of the slide rub hardest. http://www.rvwholesalers.com/catalog...productid=3017

There are rollers under our bed slide but they do not leave tracks on the carpet.

We had the same problem and solved it the same way Dieselguy did.. with Slide Slickers. We got ours from Lippert while at one of the Goshen rallies. They work well. However, for our 3400 I had to shorten one of the slickers just a bit to work with the dining room slide where it comes up to the kitchen counter. Not a big deal but something to be aware of. The slickers did the trick for us.

We just used an old desk chair mat, the pliable one's, and cut it up in strips. We have done this for almost a year now and is working great, and cheaper.

Are the slickers left down all of the time, or do you bring them up when you are set up?

They're only used when the slides are going in and out then they get stored in the basement.

I like Larry's idea of making your own out of an old desk chair mat. Or even a new one. They have those grips on the bottom, just like the slickers do, and should do a great job.
Larry, the desk chair mats I've had are pretty heavy material. How did you cut it?
Thanks.

Steve
I used a straight edge and a utility knife, it wasn't real easy but it will work. We were still in TX. when I cut them, so it was just a trial and error. If I was to do it again, I would use a tin snips as they would work better.
We will continue to use the strips as it protects the carpet and keeps from wearing.
