I replaced the mirror on mine. Original one had turned black.Dealer supplied new one.I do not know what kind of glue was used to attach it but had a tough time getting it off the front cap. Goo gone, WD 40 , Krudcutter finally got it all off. Do not know how useful it will be as I have not hooked up since replacement.

Good question Rex, Mine was blackened and got it replaced. And I really cannot even think that I have even looked at it. And that’s been a year ago. I think I’m always so focused on doing it the old way, I never think of it. Lol.

Don't use it
Have tried several different ways to find it useful to no avail. I don't find it an issue as far as looks are concerned.

Really only has one purpose and that is to help you hook up the hitch, beyond that, not much more you can do with it other than use it for your hair and makeup

They won't come off, we had the same problem with a 2018 3731 FL . Had to replace it with a new one under warranty, dealer sent it to me and i replaced it. Use a plastic putty knife under the edge and pry slowly , they use glue to hold it on. the new has glue on it.

I use pool noodles split down one side to slip over the bottom edge of the bedroom slide. They have saved my noggin several times!

I use to use my mirror. I had an L shaped 110 gallon drag up tank in my bed, plus a tool box. No way to see the hitch.
It was easy enough to look in my rear view mirror to see the 5er mirror, and if I was straight on or not.
Cleared my bed of the tank, so I'll see now what I do ?

Never have used since brand new in 2010. Mirror not clear enough for using and the bedsaver makes it more difficult, having to raise or lower to miss crossbar. The look doesn't bother me. Don't use the sewer boom either.

I use it all the time when hooking up. I have a BakFlip cover and I can't see my hitch when I have it flipped open.

Just looking thru this thread i think Dmax might have hit on something, I've had 2 short bed GM products and couldn't see the mirror in mention with either but seems like he can with his long bed. Could that be the secret? let me know what you all thing

I use mine to hitch up. I have a flip up bed cover when folded up prevents me from seeing the hitch without the mirror. Had the mirror replaced when I first picked up the unit because it was dark. Don't know how long it will be useful before it turns again.
I have 2018 HC3R5RL.

I use an iBall Wireless mag mount Rear view bed camera. Perfectly clear undistorted view of pin sliding into latch. The curved mirror is too distorted and not big enough view.
