Add a room

We are thinking it would be nice to install an add a room -- those canvas enclosures that attach to the awning. However, it appears to me that the door is too close to the edge of the awning on the 3295. Does anyone have experience doing this?
Thanks in advance -- see you all at the rally.

Never had one. A friend had one & it was a lot of trouble to set up. He used it one time , then sold it.

Unless you stayed in one place a long time. It would not be worth the time to fool with it. Happy rving....

Dave & Victoria, It doesn't appear anyone answered your question.. If you are looking at these from CareFree, I've done a lot of buisness with them and they've been very helpful. Maybe they can assist..? http://www.rvawningsonline.com/produ...egory.php?c=89

Thanks for your thoughts.
We do camp for extended periods some times. We just spent a month on Drummand Island in a primitive campground. I am weighing the possibilities of the add on vs outside tent -- maybe both.
Will contact RV awnings
Thanks again

Dave, on the outside tent idea. In addition to the awning on our TT and the one on our van (12'x10') we also keep a 12'x12' Easy-UP in the bulkhead of the TT and takes up very little space. This has screen sides that can be taken off and goes up in about 5 minutes. Just a thought.

We have one of the screen rooms. We have only used it a few times when we had our kids and grandkids with us. It gave us room to store the extra gear and for the grandkids to play where we could keep an eye on them. We got it for our last fifth wheel before the Montana but kept it. It takes time to set up and take down so it is handy to have help. We never set it up unless we are out longer than 2 days. We are keeping it with the thought of setting it up for an extended stay somewhere there may be an abundance of bugs. If you do get it, make sure you buy the heavier vinyl and the privacy panels in case someone wants to sleep in there.

Also, a word of warning. The same conditions that make it dangerous to have the awning up applies to the room, though the room does give the awning added stability. If you are thinking about using it in a windy area, my advice would be not to.

Again, thanks for the ideas.

I think we will get along without for the rest of the summer. Then invest in a tent or easy up this winter and see how we do with that before going for the add a room.

I understand the wind issue. On Drummand Island we had to string a tarp between a couple of trees to prevent our little screen room from collapsing even though it too was tied to trees.

Good info, we had thought about this also, but if they are a "pain" to set up, we just may forego that expense and hassle, do a seperate screen room, sounds like that may be the way to go since we are just weekenders
