Ordered a 3561 a month or so ago, comes off the line late July. We ordered everything except paint, I can have a lot of cleaning and waxing done for $10,000.00. Couldn't find anyone that stocked anything other than the base models.
Wow great info on the surge protection.

Duratain coating sounds to me like surface protection not paint check it out and make sure. I opted for no dealer add on's such as sealers, tire insurance, extended warranties and so on, I found through this forum I can get better for less on the open market.

I love ours, our cord re-winder has been trouble free. very handy in cold weather camping, no more wrestling the anaconda, nice paint job, the Incommand system, etc. I would do it over again

I have a 2019 3931FB. Where is the transfer switch located? I’m thinking of purchasing a generator. Would this allow me to buy a generator w/o an inverter?

I would buy the legacy package again I don't have the disk brakes but still think it was worth it.

Rear end cap always cracks me up. I rarely ever look at the back of a camper. The disc brakes are the most important part in my view.

While I would take disc brakes over the rear cap any day, I think the flat back cheapens the look of the Montana. Looks like they spent a lot of time and money getting the look just right and then when they got to the back the bean counters said "that's it" throw a sheet of plywood on the rear and call it good! For the price of these trailers the cap should be standard, just like it used to be.

That is not what they did. They dropped the name of another unit in the Montana line and called it "Montana" and what was the montana became the legacy package. Folks wanted the Montana name but did not what to pay the Montana price so they gave them a name.It happened a few years ago as we saw the change at the fall rally and commented that we got a upgrade to the legacy free of charge. There was nothing wrong with the previous named unit but the Montana name sold better.

It was the mountaineer that got the name change to Montana. The name just did not sell. They did nothing but change the name to Montana and create the Montana legacy .Good marketring.

Outside my issues with the power reel I'd still get the Legacy package (sans paint), especially now that it comes with disc brakes. Honestly, I didn't even know about the power reel until I got my unit. When I opted for the legacy package I was only looking to ensure I got the rear cap and the In-Command system (I like my tech toys). I just never liked the "blah" look of the regular rear panels and the rear end of the Cougar 5th wheel we had before always looked warped. The thicker rear cap doesn't warp, at least not yet anyway.

We just got a new 2019 3120RL last year and we've had it out a few times and have put over 4000 miles on it so far. My wife is retired but I don't think I'll ever retire. Anyway, we wanted the Legacy version too but would've had to order it and the timing was not right for a few reasons. The salesmen was pushy too on selling us one that was on the lot to get his commission. All I really wanted was the molded rear panel and most of the other options I was not too big on. Most of them you can install later and get better products. The auto paint is nice just because of the color scheme but IMO not worth the extra cost. We've installed a couple cameras and some other options already. Our unit is already pre-wired for all of the bells and whistles for solar, generator, satellite, etc. I'm thinking about gutting the manual control and going to bluetooth or some other system. The big selling point for us with taking what was on the lot is we saved a bunch of money so that was our driving force and my wife loved this model just the way it was.

Finlay picking ours up tomorrow (maybe, 38 point check list). All the other stuff is nice but the real reason I bought the legacy package was for the disk breaks, if they had had a single check box for disk breaks I would have just opted for that.

That's a lot to pay for disc brakes when you can install yourself very easily for well under $2,000.

For some things (computer and electronic related) I would trust myself to do it, but for others, especially safety related not so much. On the other hand, I think I got a really good deal checking every box except paint.

Ok, I have to amend my previous quote. After picking up the new 3561 and using it for a week it was brought to my attention that it was not me that wanted the Legacy package, and disk breaks were not the reason, cabinets, electric power reel, rear cap and In Command was what she wanted. I swear I checked that box.

If you are still looking for the transfer switch.... on my 2020 3931FB it's behind the basement rear wall. Difficult to access because it is also behind the InCommand panel. However the 'gen prep' puts a connection box for the generator input in the overhead of the basement, very easy to access if you lay on your back.
