Verizon Comes Through!

If only Direct TV treated their customers as good as Verizon! We knew that we were going to go over our data limits this month, mainly due to all the extra time logged on looking at different properties. Stopped by Verizon Corporate Store yesterday.

Our MiFi was due for upgrade, plus we were thinking about raising our data (GB's) limits. Really pleasant gal looks over our account history and tells us that it would be cheaper just to let it go over an extra GB or two this month and pay the extra, instead of changing the plan. Also she said our current MiFi, as long as it is working, is the same technology as the new ones. She suggested waiting until they come out with some type of "new generation" MiFi.

We were very pleased with her knowledge and profession attitude. Plus at the end of our visit she advised us that since we were valued long time customers she had entered some type of discount on our plan and from now on our plan would be $10.00 cheaper!

Joe, we had a similar incident with Verizon. I had contacted them to inform of a service outage in our area. Spoke with a really nice gentleman on the phone concerning the outage, luckily we still have a land line. When conversation was over he informed me that we are eligible for a $10/mo discount or we could upgrade our plan to the next larger data package for same money as paying currently. He then looked at our data usage and said we'd be better off taking the discount as we have never come close to data overage. My phone is a company phone so not worried about that but Dea has the i5s and we also have a tablet with data plan. So now we're paying $20 less than we were! CUDOS to Verizon. I rarely sing the praises of any service like that but this is merited! Tim

I got stopped by a Verizon salesman at the Tampa RV show. When I told hime I already had Verizon, he said he would check to see if he could help me out. Discounted my monthly rate by $10 and gave me a tablet for free!

They have become a much more customer friendly company in the last several years. Pretty much ever since Sprint started advertising that they would buy you out of your old plan and cut your bill in half. For us, that never made any sense since you can't even get Sprint in many rural towns let alone out in the boonies where we usually are.

I totally agree with the "data roll over" for each month. We have gone several months only using between 11 and 12 GB's of date (out of our 15GB). Now as I type this we are probably just slipping over with a new days to go. But like DQ said, they sure have the best nationwide coverage!

Verizon has always provided us with great service. I recently had them go through my plan and asked them for more data. they gave me 6 gigs more and lowered my plan by $5. Can't beat that.

I too wish they would have roll over data!

I'll be the lone decenter here. Worst company i've ever dealt with. To make a long story short, I had to provide them with 7 forms of identification (yes 7: DL, Passport, Sentri pass, car reg x2, utility x2) and a written explanation to prove i'm not a terrorist. Since I full-time they couldn't wrap their head around my virtual postoffice mailbox coming up a PO box. They turned my service off, after one day and tried to charge a disconnect and early termination fee, due to "security concerns." If I didn't need a CDMA and GSM carrier for redundancy for work I'd have gone elsewhere and never turned back.

Were you dealing with one of their retail stores, a corporate store, or dealing with them on-line/telephone? I will not even visit a retail store unless it is an actual corporate store. Just like I would never buy a Verizon package or upgrade through someone like Walmart.

davidaf. We can relate to your experience. In these increasingly difficult times it has because difficult for a full timer or one who has a PO box address .In one case we had to list the address of the RV campground as our address to get our mail. We are fortunate to have a S&B so have learned how to deal with that. I agree with JandC Corporate stores only. Verizon has as JandC state the best nationwide coverage and we have never had a issue with Verizon. I like the roll over idea and I will bet Verizon will catch up

My issue occurred with the corporate phone people, namely their security department. Store people have been fine as have their normal call center operators. It's just when I hit their specialized department that they slipped to the bottom of my list.
