We stayed there about 5 years ago. On the positive side, you are right on the beach. You are really close to many downtown areas which you can get to by avoiding lots of high traffic streets. The bad - since you are so close to the beach there is a lot of foot traffic thru the parking area and several people had items disappear during the night - we had to lock everything up. Also, during the winter season they build up the sand berm so that any storms cannot reach the parking area, this means you have NO view of the ocean. It really is just a large parking lot with some grass strips. If I needed to be close to downtown LA I would stay there again (my kids live about 10 minutes away). Again, it has been several years since we stayed there so things might have changed.
