Childress, TX
This is a campground in downtown Childress, TX.. I think it used to be a garage in the building.. That is all that is there.. and lots of dirt.. It has full hookups, not sure about cable tv.. They want $480 a month to stay there plus electric. We are 20 miles east of there and we have grass..

That is the most depressing place I've ever seen for a campground, and having lived in that part of Texas, I know the red dirt around there would quickly cover the floor and everything else in an RV. Ugh. And the price--highway robbery!

We pass thru Childress going and coming Colorado bound every summer, but I don't remember seeing that one. Probably just did not recognize it for what it is. But yes, the price for that is really bad.
I know they do have a small RV park behind the Best Western for something under $30/day. Don't know if they have weekly/monthly rates or not. And I understand you get to eat at the free morning breakfast buffet. Have never tried it though.

That does look like one of those county or town RV parking areas. They usually don't do monthly or even weekly rates. At $480 a month that is $15 to $16 a day which is usually the average for that type of park. In most small towns they are normally a parking lot and fairly small. In some towns it can be in a park like my town or in Llano it is a paved parking lot right along side the river or like in Gatesville there is RV parking right behind the courthouse in the town square. They are not meant for long term parking but more for travelers or people just visiting that area. So at $16 a night that is actually pretty cheap. Do gotta admit the red dirts gotta go though but then you are in the Panhandle...
