Unsolicited free advice

Newbies, I would suggest getting the book; 'The Next Exit'
One of the most used tools we carry, Interstates are what it tracks, tells you what services, if any, are at the mile marker, or next exit you come to, the type of station, (Diesel or not) hamburgler places, and where the rest stops are.
You will treasure the book, as we do.

Great suggestion Ozz. I know the DW will really appreciate where the next rest area is.

Great book, suggest anyone that runs the interstate have one, especially when pulling a rig.

I just bought the new Microsoft Street And Trips with GPS. $107.00 at Sams Club. Will not travel without it again. RT click on the mouse at the point GPS tells you where you are at select find nearby places and Campgrounds, Gas stations and resturants are shown. You can set the filters as to how much it shows. Voice step by step navigation. Love it. It has helped me so much on this trip.

How is the volume on the sound of 2007??? 2006 was awful, could not hear it without the use of a set of headphones. Al and I were just wondering about this today!

Thanks Ozz,

Just picked one up through Amazon.com. I got the Dec 2006 edition, but looks like it's 4-6 weeks out for delivery.

We use the Next Exit for interstates and the Truckers Friend for US highways. I see there's now an RV version of that called RV'ers Friend or something like that.

I think they should update the contents to include overhead clearances and ease of access to fuel for us 'High boys'

In regards to "The Next Exit". Went to Barnes and Noble and they still had the 2006 edition on their shelves. The kind lady checked the computer and said the 07 edition didni't ship until December. This was four days ago In Jan DUH!!!

The 2007 edition is available NOW. Don't be mislead by "clerks who know not what the are saying"!!!!!!!!!!
