Moab, UT RV Park Recommendations Sought

In August we are taking my 78 year old and very active Father in law with us on a RV vacation. I cannot tell you how much he is looking forward to this trip. I know we are. We are trying to find really nice locations for the stays so he has the best time possible. He will probably know everyone there by dawn.
We will be spending the nite in Moab and are considering one of these 3 RV Parks
Spanish Trail
Portal RV Park and
Dead Horse point (but I think this is too far away from Moab to be reasonable.
We will be driving here from Golden and expect it to take us about 7 hours to get there. Maybe a bit less.
That evening we are going to take the Canyonlands River Tour. If you have done this also I would appreciate your input on this attraction.

we are scheduled to arrive in Moab on 7/14 where we will stay at Arch View Resort RV Camp ... have never been there, selected CG based on a friend's recommendation ... interestingly enough when we leave there on 7/16 we will be driving to Golden where we will stay at Dakota Ridge RV Park ...

I would highly recommend the Canyonlands River Tour and partake of the dinner also. The cruise was beautiful and informative and the dinner was delicious. We did both during our visit right after 9/11 in 2001.

We toured all of southern Utah and picked up all of the National Parks including the north rim of the Grand Canyon plus various national monuments and state parks. Best trip we ever took. We weren't RVing then but when we retire someday, that's how we plan to go back. Can't wait.

Have a great trip.
