VirginMobile no-contract unlimited data for $40/mo

Just FYI -- new unlimited data plan is now live on VirginMobile's website:

Alex,
Thanks for the info. This could be something to consider in the future. I looked at their coverage map and many of the places we would be traveling have no coverage currently. I suspect that will improve with time.

We will stick with what we have currently but will keep your suggestion in mind for somewhere down the road.

Again thanks for keeping us up to date on what is happening out there.
Dennis

you're quite welcome. also... just FYI, when looking at virgin mobiles's coverage map, make sure you turn on the checkbox for 'high speed' above the map.

Do you need to be a Virgin Mobile cell phone customer to use this service?

Thanks for the info. I was checking it out on-line and it seemed like if I wanted to up my INTERNET time, I had to have a Virgin account number or phone number.

We recently bought the MiFi device from Virgin mobile. You can connect up to 5 devices at a time to it. We recently returned from a month long trip and it worked great. Any place we had cell service (our carrier is AT&T) we had internet. $40 for 30 days of unlimited use with no contract is a big plus for us.
