Solid Surface Counter

Greetings, my wife and I took delivery of a 2010 Mountaineer in April of this year. On our first trip, we scratched the surface of the countertop with a salad bowl. Not noticing anything out of the ordinary until we cleaned up, then noticed several scratches. Just wonering if anyone here has experienced the same thing? And if you were able to remove the scratches. The owners manual says that Soft Scrub may remove scratches but wanted to put this out there in case there is something I should know before trying to remove them.
Thanks any help will be appreciated.

Bob

Solid surface material such as Corian can be buffed and polished to remove shallow scratches. Deeper scratches may require sanding with progressively finer grit.

Bob,
We did pretty much the same thing to ours after we got it. Here is a link to the post I made and what I did to fix it: http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=35759
It took some time and patience, but I did get it back to the original look. Now anytime I set a bowl, pot or anything that may scratch, I have a board or towel on the counter top to protect it. I still have the repair kit I used for the scratches, but hope I never have to use it again. Hope this helps. As a last resort, you can always hire somebody that deals in Corian to do the repair for you.
Jack

Bob another thing you must remember is the counter top is not as thick as a top used in stick homes, look underneth and see if it was sprayed in or a true solid sirface I think Jacks post sound about right on repairs.
