I think someone needs retraining on how to install signs. That or they didn't have any up hill signs so they had to improvise.
Took me a minute to figure out what it is.

It’s a sign for a steep downhill grade that someone turn 90 degrees to mount it. Guessing it is meant to show steep uphill grade but they didn’t have the correct sign for that.

Or someone really screwed up. Be a real shock if some one hit the throttle anticipating steep uphill only to find steep downhill.

We have reservations there in about a week. Will we be able to get in with our 42’ Montana? I picked a site that seemed to be big enough going by the site details. I read in the reviews that the grade of the hill was between 15 and 25%. I am towing with a 2500 duramaxx.

Looks like it's time to try out that 4L thing

If it’s that steep when you come back out if your transmission starts to over heat put it in 4 wheel drive low and that will cool the transmission down. That is a trick I use going up Union pass Wyoming.

That sign would be pretty accurate on the road to Big Spring, MO. Well worth the trip though.

The grade is not my main worry, our RV friendly GPS took us through the Sonora Pass, 26% uphill and downhill grade with tight turns. We toasted our truck brakes and melted the speed sensors for the stabilitrak system but we made it.... I am more concerned about being able to get into the campsites. If someone who has been there can enlighten me or do I need to find an alternative location. Thanks

It had to be the steepest grade we've experienced. The HO RAM went up easily but you look at it and you say REALLY? We were in space #6 our 41' fit nicely. There were some on other loops they are really one way in and one out. And I would not attempt the dump station. Looked way to tight. We ended up pulling out the way we went in and backed into the loop on the way out to turn around.

All said and done, we'd go back. Cheap Shell fuel in Parsons. Park Manger brought fire wood around - dried oak $7.

4L is great for pulling steep. Just remember that 4WD is tough on components while on asphalt, especially in turns. Back when, but I don't know about today, towing in 4WD had less towing capacity.

When I ordered my new MHC, I checked off the box to delete the rear ladder and add a rocket pack.

Well we did it and we made it no problem. It was okay because there were no tight turns and it was on a quarter mile. It was getting turned around at the office to go to the campground that was tough for a rig our size but another camper helped get me around to turn.
