Rear carrier test fit

I am working on additional support for the rear carrier. I bought 2 receiver tubes and the square stock for them, I will mount the two on either side for support. This will spread the weight out a little.
I fit the rear carrier today to see how it would work and took measurements.

(The wood blocks are to protect the LED lights while I am working on it, the lights stick out a little)

Jim,

The two outrigger receivers are a good choice in my opinion; we went that way in our modification. Also, you may want to modify the length of your ladder so that you can bring your carrier closer to the rear of your 5er - in our experience, the extra length of the carrier can cause some dragging problems.

Good call, I was noticing how far it was away, I had to have that with the bike carrier I had on it, but with this set-up, the bikes are to the rear. I was just telling Sue I was pulling the hitch so I can sandblast and repaint it. I'll chop it then.
