Tire Shop Recommendation near Pittsburgh

We live in western PA just north of Pittsburgh and need to replace the tires on our 2021 3121RL fifth wheel. We ‘re planning on replacing them with the same brand that are currently on the RV – Sailuns S637, ST235/80R16, 14 ply, G rated ones and were going to order a set and have them shipped to us.

We’re looking for a reliable and trustworthy tire shop to remove the existing tires from the RV and mount, balance and install the new ones on it. If anyone reading this is from this area where we live and could recommend such a tire shop, that would be very much appreciated. TIA!

Having had tire issues on 2 cross-country trips, being able to rely on a national chain with a national warranty was a life saver. For that reason (assuming you plan on interstate travel) I would go with Discount Tire/America’s Tire or Les Schwab. Stores all across the country so your warranty goes everywhere.

Just my 2 cents, but after 2 Saliuns failed (with Sailun denying warranty both times despite dealer going to bat for me, I will never buy another.

I bought my Saliuns on line and took the RV to a local Discount Tire for mounting, so I second Robokatz. Unfortunately Les Schwab stores are all out west.

I searched IRV2 to see if there were recommendations and the pickings were slim. One thread had a recommendation for Elliot’s Tire Service up in Butler, and another for Southern Tire in Brookville…not exactly local to Pittsburgh.

On the advise of MOC members, I bought tires on line from Simple Tire for our Monty and they gave specific shop choices from which I chose the most convenient. Based on the excellent experience with Simple Tire I also bought truck tires through them 5 months later, then a set of car tires 7 months later. Very happy with all my Simple Tire dealings to date. Price was always as stated and as low as anywhere else. My 2 cents folks.

Just google local tire shops and check their reviews. I, like others, ordered my Sailuns on line, had them delivered to my house and then took them to my local American Tire Depot, who does all my tire changes. I don't know if you have that company where you reside, but they have offered great service to me.

I did the same as others mentioned. I bought my tires online and had them shipped to me. Then I had them mounted at a local Discount Tire.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I ended up finding an RV dealership and service center just south of Butler, PA called Butler RV Center who was able to get me the Sailun tires I wanted and mount, balance and install them. The price I paid for the tires was only a couple bucks more than Simple Tire wanted plus I was able to just drop the RV off with them and then pick it up when the work was done. Easy peasy!

Just a thought to remember here folks. After 41 years in the automotive repair trade, the last 30 years as a shop owner who also sold / mounted tires. I understand buying online for price--BUT when your AZZ is in a bind out on the road who is possibly going to be the one who saves your hide? It very well could be a mom and pop shop just getting by because of everyone price shopping online. So do your research, find the tire you like and give a local shop a chance. Your willing to let them mount the tire anyway so spend a few extra bucks to help out the little guy who just might turn out to be the super hero someone needs. Who knows - it could be you.
