Last months Trailer Life was awfully thin. I generally read them cover to cover in “the library”. I am looking forward to the new mag.

As long as the magazine becomes thicker and equal content between 5er and MH I will like it. Always interesting to see the “other side”.

Ok thanks, I guess it’s just me that doesn’t care about the newest diesel pusher floor plans or the problems with some class C. They are two entirely two different animals from our 5 ers. Yes some components are the same , but it pretty much stops there.

Don't know if anyone remembers but back when I received Trailer Life magazine in the 80s I seem to recall it was much thicker and seemingly had more diverse information (from memory so.....). I don't remember motor homes being in it then but they might have been? Maybe it's just coming full circle....or maybe not.

Yes .. TL was much thicker 20 years ago. It also had more content. One of the items in TL that I miss the most was at the very end of each months magazine, there was a personal adventure from a certain older RVer (Bill Graves). He had a very unique way of telling about his latest romp across the US of A. The short one pager always ended with the same phrase ... Welcome to America's Outback.

Magazines every where are having a hard time staying afloat. I used to advertise in three small magazines they are all gone now. They just couldn’t make it. People would rather look on the internet. I’d rather have a good magazine.

I use to take Trailer Life Magazine several years ago. Over time, (Like several years), I saw the magazine get smaller and more and more advertisements. Paper magazine sales must have slumped sometime back then because "they" incorporated the digitized magazine with your subscription, so you get access to the currently monthly magazine on-line. I actually like this better than the paper edition.

But again, advertisements way outnumbered articles. Then it shrunk. That's when I let my subscription drop.

I found out later that back issues in their entirety are still available with no subscription at all: Click here, and the article I really looked forward to was also compiled into a free section on the web site: 10 Minute Tech, click here archived. Granted these are not current articles (like this month's issue), but there's enough information on the web site to keep me entertained for a while. So, I go back every now and then read stuff from about a year and a half ago. Things DO NOT change THAT much from year to year. Want to keep up on the latest floor plans, go to the manufacturer's web site and punch in any make and model on YouTube and get an instant video tour of the unit.

So, really, there was no need for "me" to subscribe any more. I'm not in the need to purchase a new camper, so places like THIS forum, dedicated to the specifics of my Montana is really much more beneficial for "me."

I will admit though, when we purchased our first Pop-Up in 1996, the camping magazines and RV magazines were a fascinating read. Today, I'd much rather just go visit an RV dealership and see the real thing, or better yet, go camping and experience the things that others write about.

I subscribe to both but did not renew this year. They were getting too thin, same ole stuff in them, and seemed like they wanted to cover travel destinations more than RV’s. If I wanted a travel magazine, I’d subscribe to one. Lol. Won’t effect me on the merge.

Same with newspapers. My family took a Dallas daily, a local daily, and a weekly. All thick and a significant classified section. And I read them all front to back even as a kid. And subscribed to both dailys after moving out on my own. And still enjoy reading them over my morning coffee. Except now the Dallas weekly is thin and no real classified section. And the local daily is now a thin weekly. Would drop that local except for the occasional local story of interest that doesn’t make the Dallas paper. No doubt it won’t be long until they are on-line only. Just not the same. But they survive on advertising. And that also is going mostly on-line.

We advertise on line. It’s much better bang for the buck. We still advertise in one little magazine but not for what it does for us but what we can do for it. Benchrest shooters supported us for years now it’s our time to support them. Turn about is fair play.

Ditto. In addition I would like to see them not kiss up to advertisers. They have lost a lot of objectivity and try too hard to not offend.

I have had at least two emails asking me to subscribe to the new magazine and I have sent them an email back asking whether my subscription will continue to the new magazine since I have paid up on Trailer Life until June of 2023. Have not heard a word back but if I don't I will be making a phone call or send a message to Marcus (since he states "If you have a problem, I have a problem" and we'll see what he has to say about it. I'll post what I come up with.
