For the novice electrician...when replacing the breaker, do you need to first disconnect the negative ground wire on the battery? Thought I better ask before my wife finds my on my back in the driveway!

I would. The 12 volts will not hurt you. But if you allowed a loose wire to touch ground the sparks could scare the cr@p out of you.

Probably best to unhook both.

After countless times of having to wait for the underrated breaker to reset three or four times every time I moved the slides I bought an 80 amp auto reset breaker. Fortunately we only had a few more camping trips scheduled after receiving it in the mail. I should have installed it when it arrived but I waited until yesterday to perform that work. A bit of a PITA but it sure is nice now to be able to have the slides work like they were designed to.
Happy roads to you.
Tom

I installed the 80A Buss. Replaced the 50A. I am still having the same issue with it continuing to have to hit the hyd slide multiple times for them to open all the way. Any ideas?

First question would be, are you sure you replaced the correct one? It must be the one with the wire going to the hydraulic pump.
Pictures?

You people replacing the 50A breaker - you are lucky. I am pretty sure my 2006 model had a 40 amp breaker!!!

Your installation looks right to me.
I have the in-command touch screen in my unit. Sometimes if I don’t touch the “slide in” or “slide out” button just right - it will start then stop. A rocker switch would be easier. The same goes for my bedroom slide which is a schwintek slide. I have to be very careful and deliberate to put my fingertip correctly on the touch button just right and keep constant pressure to make it run. Lights and other touch switches are not as difficult. The constant pressure needed to keep the slide moving is a learned skill for me!

Understood about the InCommand. What is the buss below the 80a in the second pic? I wonder if that Buss could be bad. I bypassed the 80a. To try. Just ran the pump hot cable to the other side of the Buss. Still cuts out after 5 to 10 seconds. This is when the slides are going out. They come in without issue. Now I am going to bypass the lower Buss and take the hot leg from the battery and hook it up directly to the 80a and see what happens. Process of elimination I guess.

The black circuit breaker on the left Goes to you inverter for the residential fridge I believe. The two Circuit breakers with the red cap are the resetting 50 amp and the one you replaced (left) is for the hydraulic system.

Yep. I was just wondering if the other 50A below the 80A could be bad.

Our solution to the Breaker issue. We have never replaced the breaker with the 80 amp on either of our Montana 5th wheels. We had basically the same 5th wheel the 06 3400 and now the 13 3002. We have 4 slides the order of operation is 1st bedroom, 2nd kitchen, 3rd opposing, 4th main slide. We noted early on that if we hit the slide control and kept it pressed we would most likely pop the breaker so we do not do that. Starting with say all slides in we press the slides out button and let the bedroom slide come out then let off for a few seconds then press the slide switch and let the kitchen slide come out, let off for a few seconds the hit the switch again and let the opposing slide out, let off for a few seconds the depress the switch again and let the main slide out. We never pop a breaker. We do the same when the slides come in. It may take 20 or 30 seconds longer but we are in no hurry. Easy fix.

Yeah, I wish I could do that. When I push the button in the command center the bedroom just starts and then the refrigerator slide goes along with it. The dining slide will start to move when the other 2 are more than half way out. I believe if I could do what you are talking about I would not have any issues. I wonder if you could adjust the flow to each slide so you could kind of sequence them....

When I hit the button to return the slides back in they are definitely sequenced. The fridge slide retracts quickly with the bedroom (in back of coach) right behind it after it closed. Then last is the dinette slide. If it was like that on the way opening it would work fine. I believe
