St. Mary/East Glacier KOA Bankruptcy
We stayed at the St. Mary/East Glacier KOA in August 2022, and thoroughly enjoyed the park and our stay there. If I travel back to Glacier, I would definitely stay there again. It is just outside of the park entrance and the NP Red Bus picked us up at the campground for the Going to the Sun Road. Definitely not trying to bash the KOA. According to their website they are still open and taking reservations.
Eagle Bear Inc., which owns the KOA campground, has been found guilty of failing to pay back taxes and lease payments to the Black Feet Indian Nation which owns the land that the KOA is on. Eagle Bear has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. If anyone is interested, the case number is: 4:22-bk-40035-WLH.
My real issue with this is that I have received two letters from United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Montana pertaining to the bankruptcy. Not sure why I am receiving the correspondence from the court and if this is anything for me to be concerned with. I reached out to the KOA and was told that these letters were sent in error.
Has anyone else received these letters or is just me? Again, not sure why I’m receiving these, other than me staying there. Do I need to show these letters to an attorney? Don’t want to spend that money if I don’t have to.
Thanks in advance.
