Rearrange furniture & replacement

2007 3400RL. The OEM recliners are (finally) toast. DW and I want to move the couch to the rear (where the recliners are now) and put theater seating where the couch is now. Concerned about weight, as the theater seating will be in the slide. Also getting it to fit in the door. Have looked briefly at Lazy Boy, Glastop, and Rec Pro. Any advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know if your slide is flush to the floor or raised like my 3100rl, but if raised and you have to pull the recliners away from the wall to recline it won't work unless you put extenders on the front of the bases.

Thanks for the reply. I know I have a minimum of 74 x 39 where the couch is now, so I am looking for a wall hugger theater seat that will fit in the slide. Trying to avoid having to turn the recliners sideways and strap them down every time we move.

The real problem you need to deal with is the measurements of the theater seats and the slide. Weight shouldn't be an issue since I'm writing this on my side of the theater seats that are in the slide with the dinning table and were meant to be here. Most recliners and theater seats have backs that come off and that's how they get them in and out of the RV's. We'll be getting new theather seats from BraddandHall.com next fall when we're at the national rally and they'll install them for us. They also make rollers for the front if the slide is too short. The quality will be great, but so will the price.

RV furniture is all Trash both in construction and materials used. Some Class A have more quality but generally residential construction.

Last year we removed our stock couch out of our 2017 Bounder 35K we used Stanton Furniture who manufactures in Oregon but has dealers nation wide. they specialize in made to order couches whereas you can chose from 100 different fabrics or provide your own. to keep everything looking factory we ordered the stock fabric from Fleetwood and had them (stanton) install on the new theater seats we ordered. Cost was $1200 for a quality US made electric theater seating with my own fabric. They also have seating in just about every width. The new seating was more comfortable than anything we had in our home.

If you can avoid it DO NOT BUY RV SEATING buy residential

Also note that all couches that are reclining the seat backs are removable, in fact they are usually shipped with the seat backs off. This makes it easy to get through your doors and then attached in place.

The Stanton seating I was also able to screw the base down to the floor of the slide so it would not move while going down the road. Also note these are Wall Huggers. They also offer recliners so you could match all the fabrics

Here is the couch we installed

2011 montana moved couch from slide to rear window. replaced recliners with lazy boy wall huger recliners in slide. Problem with the sleeper sofe it was couple inches to wide for when the slides came across.. our air mat had gne bad so i removed it and the bed frame from the couch which gave us the inches to clear the sllides. NOw we are looking for replacement loveseat recliners to replace couch. The body deepth has to be less than 35 inches total. have had no luck local..

When we replaced our recliners, we could not find anything to fit shallow enough to avoid turning them so the slides could come in, and forget relocating the sofa, as that was worse. We did find residential recliners, better made and lighter too, that make it much easier to move than to original recliners.

Like Rohmann said. We moved the couch to the rear and it was too deep. The slides would not come in with it there. If we are staying for more than a few days I will move the recliners and couch and switch places and move them back to travel. A pain but slider feet make it much easier.
