Hello from Texas!

Hello everyone! Well the wife and I are going to make the plunge and live full time in our 2011 Montana 3100RL. We have a lot to learn and I know this site will be helpful. We will be moving to southern Florida in the next month or so due to a work transfer and the property/rental rates in the area are very high, so we did some math and figured living in our 5ther will be a challenge but doable, especially finacially.

I'm slightly worried that our 2009 F250 5.4L gasser short bed 4X4 will be near its capacity but we don't plan to pull the RV often.

We 'purchased' our 3100RL this week and pick it up next Saturday. So we still have PDI to go thru and so we are looking at various websites on tips to help with that. We are also considering a 36 month warranty thru Coach-Net for $3K, I still need to check on the usability in the southern Florida area.

We have a Reese 5th wheel and we both have some experience pulling a 5th wheel truck when we were both in the Army.

Thanks for letting me in and I'm sure when we take delivery we will have a 1000 questions!

Welcome to the forum! If your Reese hitch isn't a slider you should consider one with a short bed. My hope is that your new rig will bring you many years of wonderful memories.

Hope you have reservations at a park in southern florida near your work. Sept/october will still be kind of rainy with gobs of humidity. When we arrive in sw fl on nov one, it will still be in the 90's. We stay six months every winter in riverside rv resort outside port charlotte, north of ft myers as do a couple of other moc'rs. With canadian $$ being much lower than u.s., there should be a bunch from canada not make it down for the winter...easier to get a site. John

Welcome to the forum!

Warranty price sounds high. Might ask the dealer what is his COACHNET warranty cost and what he considers a "reasonable" profit.

Enjoy the Montana; we really enjoy ours and the information and assistance on this forum. Hope to meet you at a Montana Rally!
