BLM rv camping in quartzsite
We are planning on attending our first Circling of Montanas this January and wanted to ask the experienced Q boondockers a question. Is area where the Circling is located on Long Term Visitor Area ( LTVA )?
We are planning on staying in Q until April and if we did not have to hook up and move then we would just stay there when everyone else leaves. We are not sure where the actual Circling is relative to the 4 LTVA areas.

The Quartzsite LTVA (fee) areas are south of town, The Circling of the Montanas has historically been held 7 miles north of town on Plomosa Road in the 14 day stay area (no fee). I expect the WMs will be using the same area for the rally again this year.

Considering seals etc. it's not a bad idea to pull the slides in and level-up up at least once a winter anyway.

Thank you for the insight. Now we know how to plan. Starting to get the final list of boondocking supplies together (water bladders, dry supplies, etc) for the winter.
Really looking forward to it.
Is anyone else staying in Q for the winter after the rally?

We won't be at Q, but we will be at the Imperial National Wildlife Refuge, south of there (about 30 miles north of Yuma) on the Colorado river. My duties also occasionally take me to the Kofa Natioanal Wildlife Refuge which is just south of Q on the east side of the road.

We arrive in Quartzsite and stay La Posa South at the end of November and don't leave until near the end of March. As we set up for the winter we won't join the group but would like to stop In for a visit.

We will not be at Q, but at the Imperial Dam LTVA, about 20 miles north of Yuma, overlooking Senator Wash Reservoir. We leave on October 15th, can't wait as Edmonton Is expecting something slushy by next week-end

We will be at Quartzsite until February when we head to Imperial Dam area. I prefer Quartzsite but DW likes the wild burro's and area at Imperial Dam so we split it up.
