2019 Chevy 3500 - radio touch screen issues

Just curious if any of you Chevy/GMC truck owners have experienced issues with the radio touch screen? I have ~59k miles on my High Country and the radio has started acting up in the last month. The radio plays just fine, but the screens “touch” function goes dead. The information display in front of the steering wheel changes on its own to show the station that is playing (I think that is called “audio”). If I change it back to “speedometer” (can’t remember the proper term) - it will change back to “audio”. It makes the “click” sounds continuously like it is trying to change something. The functions come back when I crank the truck. I have no idea what causes it to go into its funk. Apple airplay goes funky also. I can’t replicate the cause.

Reading Chevy forums - this seems to be a common issue with these radios. There are plenty of YouTube videos about it also. They say to check the wiring harness plugs…try factory reset…leave the key in the ignition over night and it will reset. I have not checked the harness plugs yet but I have done the other two easy recommendations. Some say dealer has to reload software for $600. Some say it has to have a new (name?) main computer behind the glove box. Some throw in the towel and purchase a new aftermarket radio for $1500 + install. Don’t know what a new OEM radio cost.

Just curious if anyone here has any experience or advice?

I have a 2020 with 6200 miles on it so no problems yet. But I understand that the infotainment system in these trucks have issues. I would check with your dealer for recall or warranty. Maybe start with a firmware update? My understanding is it is interfaced with MANY systems and functions of the truck which will become inoperable if replaced with anything else. Mine recently did a firmware update on its own at a gas station and the truck was (offline) during this 15 minuet process. Sorry to the people in line behind me
