lost underbelly chloroplast
while traveling through Wyoming winds on our trip home from Utah, I stopped for fuel and found that a section of underbelly was on dragging underneath, along with 2 wires, they were destroyed and it ripped the gally valve apart, leaking sink water out. I cut the chloroplast off and the "insulation", ty wrapped the wires back up and headed out, all lights and brakes normal.
get to camp and the maintenance man gave me some wire nuts, I was able to splice one wire back together but cannot find the second half of wire #2, i assume it is in the front underbelly still intact. I trimmed and taped up the #2 wire
my questions:
1. 98% of wires/cables/lines are neatly bundled and tied up. the 2 wires torn up looked like they were thrown in as an afterthought, everything still works, could these be for the gen package?
2. how can wind rip off the underbelly, anyone have this happen?
3. which way does the power run, back to front or front to back?
4. are AC wires in ceiling or in the bundle?
thanks

That is a real bummer. There must have been a failure of the fasteners holding that bit of coroplast that allowed the wind to "inflate" it and drop it down. Have only seen coroplast come down on a parked high county went water damage in the floor caused it to fall out the bottom. Air conditioner wiring run from ac's into the ac ducts then out when near their drop point for the 120vac line and to feed the thermostat...all of it in the ceiling. I would guess you don't have a couple of brake magnets not working now. The only other wires that it have been in the way of your disaster are back up lights, tail lights, maybe side marker lights as far as I can guess. Not clear what you mean by "which way does power run".

thanks,
what i mean by which way power runs, the wire is cut, which end is hot, the rear end or front end, I did not check back up lights, all other lights work, these wires are 12ga, the lights appear to be 14 or 16 ga.

If you meter from the wire to the frame, you will find out if either end is carrying 12vdc. But caution is in order as a 12vdc fuse could have blown when the wires parted ways. It very well could be a power run to the back corners of the rear so that 12vdc could be fed to a slide to run lights and power to a RV fridge if it went to that slide or lights if the dining slide. It could also be a power or signal wire to the level up circuit box mounted above the axles, if you have auto leveling. If you have a television that is installed in a lift system, make sure you check to see if that still works. Sconce lights in the rear of the living room would be another check item. Time to play detective and see what you can uncover. John
