Central vac

Our 3854BR came with central vac but I don't see the hose anywhere in the unit. Do you have to purchase the hose aftermarket? Where do you purchase them, from your dealer or the manufacturer?

Thank you

It should be in there somewhere. If not the dealer owes you. Sometimes there are two compartments under the bed. Check both areas.

Yes there should be a bag with the hose and the attachments somewhere in the rig. That said, there are at least a few of us who gave up totally on the things and bought a shark or other good vac that really did the job. On our 2010 I tried buying the power beater and everything and finally gave up. Once I gave up I did the TV test and used the built in first to do a good job and then when over it with the shark. I had to empty the shark twice due to what it picked up and the built in didn't.

We're in that group. Threw the hose and attachments in the trash. We only use the "dustpan" feature at the base of the steps.

Our unit is a 2007 3400RL. Ordered it with the "central vac". Found out within a year or two that it "sucks" because it "doesn't suck". On recommendation from other Monte owners bought a Shark upright which we store in the "wardrobe closet" in the MBR and are glad we did.

Thank you

Thank you very much everyone. We have only taken it out twice since new and have tested everything from summerizing it to winterizing it. Found lots of things that needed to be repaired or replaced before our 1 year warranty runs out. The only thing we have left is testing out the vacuum. Sounds like if it sucks weak, it is working fine.
Thanks again.

It’s heavy, cumbersome AND it doesn’t pick up much. As said by others, the baseboard dustpan is the best feature of it. We bought the rechargeable Dyson & left the attachments for the built in vacuum at home.

Ours is a Dirt Devil. Unit is in the kitchen cabinet, hoses and other attachments are there. It works good enough for use but the hose is heavy. I bought a power attachment for it witch makes it even better.
