Pam,
Congrats on "finding" your rig! Hope someone made you whole on the hotel bill. Your facts regarding the manufacturer knowing where your rig was in their process confirms my thinking and orignal post. Manufacturers today have systems to track orders from day one. Yes they have hiccups (Covid being an order of magnitude worse than a "hicccup"), but that bump in the critical path also gets tracked in a system and date adjustments flow from that. The breakdown is not putting that info into the dealers' hand so they can update the customer (as you said as well). Perhaps the new manager of the Montana brand will consider this in their future plans, they like to talk about changes they make because they "listen to our customers".
Hope you enjoy your Super Solar and keep us updated on how it performs for you!
Thanks for chiming in on this thread too.

RipNC,
Once an order receives a serial number and is scheduled, any Keystone dealer can get a current offline date by contacting their District Sales Manager. However those offline dates change due to parts shortages or shipment delays.

Until shipping companies add satellite tracking to their trucks we cannot provide the exact day a unit will arrive at a dealer.

Most dealers have learned to not provide an exact delivery date until the unit arrives at their dealership. This stops the situation of owners planning trips prior to having their new unit. Weekly we have customers that call wanting to be reimbursed for trips missed because they have made reservations around a date they were given. Delays happen and issues arrive. We do not want an exciting time of owning a new Montana change into a bad experience because "a date" was taken as "a promise / commitment".

If you have more questions or want to discuss your situation, you can post here or contact me by Private Message.

Thank you for being a Montana owner.

All can say is there is NO WAY I would want to order a new unit in these times. They cant get them right in normal times. With them being rushed, the quality and mistakes will be multiplied x 100. Good luck!!!

Mootana,

Re: "situation of owners planning trips prior to having their new unit."

Our Bad! I guess we are one of THOSE.
You can't fault us for being anxious to get our new Montana that we paid over $80,000 for! It's difficult to sit on your hands and play the waiting game... There's always more to a story than what you see on the surface.
We didn't want to pay the shipping cost to Utah so we arranged for a "courtesy delivery" to the Grand Rapids Camping World dealer. We drove out to Michigan with our "eyes wide open" knowing that the trailer might not be ready yet, as "scheduled", and were prepared to wait.
Upon arriving in Grand Rapids we were told by the Camping World dealer that our trailer had not arrived, all the while it had been sitting there for a week!
Though it took us several days to find that out. We were getting conflicting information from the Keystone "rep" via our Utah dealer. One minute the unit was held up waiting for chairs and the next minute it was "it is coming today." In my impatience I started making calls until I finally reached someone who told me, using our Vin#, that our trailer had left the property on the 12th. This was on the 19th. That's when, through some luck, we found the trailer on the dealer's lot.
Now, how long should we have waited for that dealer to realize he had the trailer? Should we have stayed home waiting for that situation to resolve itself? If you want to BLAME US for being impatient because the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing, then so be it!

We just purchased a 2021 legacy Montana and it had the Champagne interior. I agree with all the posts about a boom in RV sales, I can't get the solar parts needed to complete the prep package.

Pam,
I don't see where I made any accusations towards your situation. If you perceived, that I'm sorry. I tried to explain why some dealers might be vague in their information. Per the original post.

If I've learnt anything in this industry is that blame goes no where. Blame achieves nothing. Blame only results in hard feelings.

I'm glad you got your new Montana. And I hope you enjoy your queen mattress.
