What is geocaching?

So you ask "What is geocaching"?
Using billions of dollars in military hardware to find Tupperware hidden in the woods! Curious yet? Participating in a "cache" hunt is a great way to be outdoors, get exercise, and spend time with family and friends. There are probably 1000's of caches in your area to find. Check out the web site, www.geocaching.com

We've been Geocaching for about 6 months, some of our friends....2 to 3 years. Lot of fun, great exercise & a great way to see places you would never go to otherwise. Dawn & I have lived on the Sunshine Coast for 58 years and only in the last 6 months, we have seen Parks that we never even knew were here. Really gives us options when out in the Monty (instead of Mall walking). And once you have your GPS it tends to be a lot cheaper . Would definitely help to have someone that all ready Geocaches, show you the ropes.

Dougs brother could show you the ropes. He is quite knowledgeable on the subject and helped me last year. It is challenging both mentally and sometimes physically but the caches are rated so you know ahead of time how hard a cache is to find and how difficult the terain is. We really enjoy it as we end up in many places we wouldn't normally be and learn much about the area.

Yes, almost every time out, we find some place that we did not know existed. I know that there are quite a few geochachers on the Forum, and probably many more that I am unaware of.
