F350 Water Separator

For all of you F350 owners, are you waiting to empty the water separator resevoir when the warning light comes on or are you doing it monthly?

I ditto what Rod says. open it every oil change and let it run a few seconds to let any water escape. The mechanic tells me he doesn't see any signs of water so I am continuing to buy my fuel from the same places as much as I can.

I also do the same every now and then, but after I had to replace the coil inside and underneath the paper fuel filter from corosion from water I do it more often now.

What was FORD thinking when they designed that system? My old 7.3 was so easy to access, but this one is a pain in the @$$ to get to and then fuel get all over the rail. To answer your question... I have only had the light come on once, removed the plug and drained... no more problems. I have it drained at every oil change.

Thanks, every oil change sounds reasonable. I normally do about 2500 miles between stops for a prolonged period, otherwise I will do it when the warning light comes on. My salesguy who has a ranch and three F350s prettty much says the same. Says he hasn't seen a warning light between oil changes.
