Hitches

Since I haven't installed by 16K Reese hitch in my new F350 yet, how do you feel about a 16K versus a 18K? The 16K meets the need of my 3000RK, but thinking about going to the 3585 and so now might be a good time to upgrade. Thanks for any comments.

When I bought the truck and trailer the dealer installed 20K hitch in my truck. I asked him why and he said you may not need it but it is there. The truck is not rated for that much but I do not have to worry about exceeding the hitch limits. There for if the cost is not too much go 18 over the 16K. I do suggest you check the difference in the weight of the two hitches to see how much of a difference.
My opinion.

Bob - go for the 18K. I have the 16K Pro and our new rig has GVWR of 15.5K. It would be nice to have a little extra margin. Also, the 18K has a positive lock head like the signatures series, which I like better than the pro series 16K

John and Brad, thanks, I decided to get a new 18K Reese. I know I am pretty close to maxing out with my 16K now, and since we are planning on getting the 3585 it will be nice to have a little extra breathing room.
