I had to make a Walmart run so, knowing they'd be closed, I stopped at both the GMC and Ford lots. The GMC dealer had the new trucks but none with diesel. Is that new Duramax available yet? The Ford lot had just one '08 last week but had six today. All were diesel but all were F250's. No F350's. Kinda like when I bought this 2005 F250.
I believe on the Fords, on the F350, the standard wheel is 18 inches. On the F250 the standard is 17 inch with 18 inches an option. My understanding is when they went to the larger brakes in 2005 the 16 inchers would no longer work. My 2005 F250 has the 17 inchers. I didn't look to see what the new GMC's were wearing.

Steve,
Yes the Duramax is out. I have seen both the 2500HD and the 3500HD. The bed is approx. 1" deeper than the "classic". The bedrail height is also supposed to be 1" higher on the new LMM. Just what I was told by the GMC dealer, have no specific paper work to verify that.

Hi Big Sky, you say you have seen the Chevy 3500!!! Was it a DRW, CC. I have seen the 2500HD but only the extended cab. I didn't really look close because the 3500 1 ton is the TV we have to have can't use the SRW or the 2500HD. Will be off the net for a couple of days. We are having a 40' wide 50' long shed type building put up Monday to cover the 5er and our Trucks. Hope to see the 3500 DRW 1 ton. Really don't understand GM, it just doesn't make sense to hold production of the 3500 Heavy Duty's. Anyone selling their 5er or TV, be very careful we have a cashiers check for $68,000 dollar for our TV and it looks so real to the human eye. But its a SCAM... Even has a large bank in Texas, even has the tellers name on the check. But its not worth the papers its made of. GBY......
P.S. Will post pictures on our Web site after our building is up...

Lindy,
The 2500HD was a crew cab and ext cab short bed Duramax. The 3500HD was an ext cab long bed SRW. Was hoping it was the dually, but not yet. Dealer said they expect to have their first new LMM dually in stock in the next three weeks or so.
Are you going to keep your Kodiak now that you have decided to keep your Cambridge? or, Are you going to go ahead with the dually order?? I can't wait to see the pics of your new garage, be sure to let me know when you have them on your blog...

I have heard May at the earliest for a dually. It is my undersanding they are having trouble with the stamping of the bed. Have heard this from 2 dealers, 1 a friend, and saw on numerous websites.
