Headed back to Kansas

Tomorrow morning we're leaving Phoenix behind. Up I-17 to I-40 and then on to I-35 and 135 to Hwy 56 and then to the home base. We will be in Albuquerque by Thursday and probably leave for Oklahoma on Saturday. Sunday we will probably stay put somewhere in OK so we can watch the NASCAR race and then on home. Flash your lights and/or wave if you see us and we'll try to do the same.

Dick you better watch the weather channel! We're suppose to get some of that WHITE STUFF this week starting tomorrow evening and going on through Friday. Omaha is right on the path and suppose to get 5-8" and could be 12-18" IF it moves a little bit either direction and Kansas if right in the same path!

Thanks Rondo, I was aware of that. At home we've been getting the once a week cycle. First day warm and humid with tornadoes or at least strong storms then the next night freezing and sometimes snow. What a wonderful spring! I've got an app on my phone and iPad that I tell where I'm going and it gives me whey points and times and what the weather is predicted to be when I get there. It's pretty handy at times like these.

Born and raised in Illinois. You younger mid-west guys are way tougher (OR SOMETHING) than us old guys. Snow in May, tornados most of the year, what else?

Not really. You stay out here and it's wild fires, you go to California and it's earthquakes, and you go to the gulf or east coast and it's hurricanes. Even Minnesota and places like that are getting tornadoes now. No place to hide.

Wind in NM was too much so we stopped for the night in Sun Valley, AZ.

Very High winds for Albuquerque tomorrow also, looks good on Friday, snow hitting the Midwest, travel safe. You could head south and still hit wind. But no snow

We're a little ahead of you Dick. Drove from Deming to Tucumcari today. The wind wasn't too bad then but is rocking the trailer now. Hope to make it beyond Oklahoma City tomorrow

we are getting sleet here in Omaha already about half an inch on the ground. Supposed to be snow by morning. Yesterday it was in the 70's

Thanks for all the well wishes. Charlie let us know what we're in for. We're staying for a couple of days in Albuquerque to visit friends and then on to Oklahoma City on Saturday. Have to stay put somewhere on Sunday. Joyce wants to watch the NASCAR race. But then on to home.

Dick,
Left Tucumcari this morning, boy was it cold, should've stayed in AZ. It was windy but we decided to try it. We had to stop and bungee the steps to keep them in, we were sucking fuel like crazy and then the truck ahead of us almost went over. OK,I can take a clue. we are now in Texola,OK exit 1 on I40

We had our steps blow open coming out of windy Santa Fe last week so we had to bungee ours too. Just added that to the "break down" list. The first time that's happened.

Some of those wind gust were in the over 50mph range and I heard as high as 70mph, probably even higher in some valleys. Glad you guys are ok. We're leaving Albuquerque for OK City tomorrow.
