Roof cavity vents
2018 385BR HC

Good morning. I have two “vents” on the roof. The covers have become brittle as seen on the one which is white.

I believe they are roof cavity vents as there is no inside vent and I can see insulation through one.

I have been unable to locate a source for replacement … every search returns typical RV vent covers for vent fans etc.

Do a search for mushroom vent or mushroom attic vent and there will be lots of posts. They get very brittle and break easily from UV.

My previous Montana I couldn't find them so I took 6 inch PVC cap, cut it down like the original, drilled a hole in the center and mounted it. It was still in good shape when I traded that camper in.

Now you can find them on the web, some just the cap, some the whole vent, but all you really need is a new cap.

I couldn't find just the cap, had to buy the whole vent and sacrifice it.

I sprayed at least 10 coats of white rattle can paint before I installed my replacements. The paint prevents uv rays from destroying the plastic.
