Sofa bed comfort

I tried searching and didn't see an answer to my question. I have a 2022 295rl, it has a sofa bed. I've tried adding a 4 inch topper, and have had some complaints about comfort. Are there any options that others have tried to make it more comfortable? I've thought about adding some plywood sections that could fit under the sofa when in couch mode. Any other ideas?

Is it a jackknife sofa? If so, terribly uncomfortable!
Is it a air mattress? I found ours to be very good, but after a couple of years it leaked and had to buy another one. I like thefirst, because it had a built in pump (sort of).
